Naw, that comes later tonight Jox [ maybe, haven't decided yet ] Lunch was a sandwich actually, fresh crusty bread, mayonnaise, cheese, tomato, cucumber and beetroot, washed down with the old cup of tea, delish.

And wondering: beetroot is the same as beet? Thinking that Australian to English, or maybe just an Australian to Phalon dictionary would come in handy at times.

Yeppers. Beetroot and Beet are the same thing. I did a Google when we were discussing what they call the works on burgers. In Australia and New Zealand they add a slice of beetroot and a fried egg to their burgers.

Onions have roots; the little hairy things at the bottom of the bulb that you cut off before eating.
Potatoes I suppose could be considered a root, though a tuber and an actual root are two different things.

LMAO. Swedes? Ok, now you gotta explain that one.
Roasted parsnips are easy, easy, easy....the only way I cook. Just peel and cut into pieces; about an inch or so long; throw in a buttered pan with a bit of olive oil and a dash or five of balsamic vinegar; a bit of salt and pepper; cover with foil, and bake until they are tender.

Errr, you're not a big parsnip person I take it Scrappy. I've only ever had them mashed with carrots, and they're okay that way, but the way P described doing them sounds good, so I'll give em a go I reckon, what's the worst that can happen.

Don't listen to Scrappy, Katina; I think I remember reading that she thinks asparagus is gross too...and she ruins perfectly delicious ice-cream by crumbling Oreo cookies on top.
I am a good cook...honest. I just don't do it often; Hubs likes to cook, gets home from work before I, and usually fixes dinner. When I do cook though, I like to experiment.....which is why I never, ever bake - it is too exact a science - following recipes and measurements and such. I've only make one cake in my entire life, (and uhm...that was from a box).
So if I ever offer you a plate of cookies, make sure they were bought at the bakery - or decline. Fair warning.
Hhmmm...don't really know if sweet potatoes taste the same as pumpkin - same consistancy, I suppose. The only way I've ever eaten pumpkin is in pie. And speaking of pie - sweet potato pie beats pumpkin pie any day.
And still....what are Swedes? I've never heard of them; nor weigans, for that matter.
