I read on Lucy's webpage that today is earth day and people are being asked to turn off their electricity for an hour ... yeah ... ain't gonna happen. I went 15 days/nights ... then 2 days/nights ... without any electricity ... then 2 times I lost lights for up to 6 hours. So, no, I'm not flipping no switches. Sor-ry!

I celebrated by using a few of those wonderful resources we've all had access to. Gas, electricity, fire in the fireplace....

April 22, you say? Yeah. No. Ain't gonna happen. I'm sure I'll lose lights again before that date. The wind has been slamming into my home all day, and the lights flickered a couple of times. I rolled my eyes and thought of this thread. Yeah, guess I will be observing it today. But so far, my lights are still on.

But so far, my lights are still on. I've lost power at some fairly inconvenient times - but my system has never suffered irrepairable damage. Sometimes I think I need an UPS just to be safe. Anybody else bother with that, or do most users simply turn the system off for a while?

I have two APC units. One big one for the computer, monitor, sound system, router, internet connection... one small one for the printer, external harddrive, lamp, fax/phone line.
