Wow... I remember when the little poetry contest I entered in high school became poetry.com. I thought there was actual judging! I know they just want your money... everybody wants your money. So sad. So where might we find a real poetry contest?

I was shocked when I came across that too. You'll find a list of contests in The Writer's Market, and their smaller genre specific books, and in The Writer's Handbook. You'll find links in this thread.

Hey Q, you can have #1 check to see if her school library has any of the writer's market/handbooks, or she can check the local library. The books contain contests for teenagers as well as adults, and also list magazines that will only accept manuscripts/poems from teenagers. I just checked my Writer's Market 2005 book and The International Library of Poetry & Watermark Press aren't listed.

I understand. Got these from my 2005 Writer's Market:
I don't know if they have any information for teens. I found these two sites online, but didn't see them listed in my Writer's Market, so you might want to look them over very carefully:

Hey Q Check out this site for young writers... I just came across it, so look it over very carefully. Let me know if you get a bad feeling about it as I'm posting it over at my writer's forum.
Can't remember if I've posted this before... but here it is again: About.com: Teen Writing
