My theory is based on plate tectonics. Earth is 4,000 miles in radius -- the crust being only 10 to 25 miles thick. As the plates float on the liquid mantle and move against each other, there is no reason to assume each plate will always remain level. The ocean, as always, stands ready to flood any land that folds downward.
Artificial-looking structures have been imaged by side-scan radar more than 1,000 feet underwater off the coasts of India, Japan and Cuba. Every year evidence mounts for the existence of a prehistoric global civilization.
As for the location, I wouldn't hazard a guess just yet.

It would seem to me that the most plausable solution, if it existed at all, is that the ocean took it back.

It sunk into the ocean after a cataclysmic event possibly a pole shift preceded by some of the same events we are experiencing today: changes in weather pattern, warming, icing, earthquates etc...
Many spiritualists say it has somethig to do with the use of crystals for energy that caused all of this. It's been so long that I read things on this, though. Maybe someone more enlightened and more intellectual has this data. It's always fun to speculate, though.
