'Housewives' Plumber Denton Can't Deal with Leak

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) James Denton, who plays a plumber with a secret on ABC's "Desperate Housewives," is hiding out with his family.
The 42-year-old actor has been forced to leave his new home after a national magazine published a picture of his house, causing strangers to drop by uninvited.

"Yeah, we're going to move," Denton tells Celebrity Justice. "We've been in the house for about six weeks, so we're not happy about that. When you've got kids, you know, David Letterman had that problem with his child. So you've got to be aware of it, and you've got to take precautions."


The Dentons purchased their Los Angeles-area home earlier this year and are now heading to an undisclosed location. He and his wife Erin are the parents of son Sheppard, 2, and a 7-week-old daughter Malin.
The magazine has since apologized to Denton, even though it has the first amendment on its side. In December 2003, a judge threw out Barbra Streisand's invasion-of-privacy suit over aerial photos taken of her Malibu home and shown on a web site dedicated to the California coastline.

Besides his role as Mike Delfino on "Housewives," Denton also appeared as Mr. Lyle on "The Pretender" and starred in the short-lived "Threat Matrix."

I don't understand why "some" people think that celebrities don't have rights to privacy. When they're on the clock, sure, you have the right to a bit of their time and space... but when they're off the clock, they should be left alone. And their families should be left along completely.

People should follow some of those paparazzi around and take pictures through their windows and publish the pictures in magazines and on the internet, see how they like it. Celebrities should have the right to a normal family life, just like everyone else, without having to worry about crazed fans knowing where they live, especially when they have small children to worry about.

You know, if I lived in Hollywood, I probably would follow one or two of the paparazzi around for a day with a digital video camera and plenty of storage while they're stalking celebrities, then post the footage on the internet with a nice closeup of the paparazzi's faces. If I could, I'd also get a full account of the experience from the stars that were stalked by them that day, and post their account right along with the footage of their stalkers. Then, of course, their publicist could tell the national news about the internet footage, and millions of people would know what these jerks look like. Then, to top it all off, the celebrities could use the footage against the paparazzi in court and sue them for everything they've got! Well, it's a nice dream, anyway.
