Eva Longoria Shoots Down Rumors That She is Engaged to Tony Parker 7/28/05
EVA LONGORIA SHOOTS DOWN RUMORS THAT SHE AND TONY PARKER ARE ENGAGED
SHOW AIRS ON THURSDAY, JULY 28, 2005
BURBANK, Calif. - July 28, 2005 - In an interview with "Access Hollywood's" Shaun Robinson, "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria shoots down rumors that she and San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker are engaged. The interview airs on "Access Hollywood," Thursday, July 28, 2005 (check local listings for time and station).
"I'm not, we are not (engaged)," Longoria told Robinson. In regards to why she and Parker finally decided to go public with their romance, the actress said, "There has been such a bounty for a picture and for the scoop on what is going on with us. It got a little bit crazy and I am just tired of being linked with every man that I talk to and say hi to, and so is he."
Parker also confirmed that basketball will keep him from attending this year's Emmy (r) Awards with his girlfriend. "I am working," he said. "I have to go play with the (French) national team." That being the case, Longoria's "Desperate Housewives" co-star star Teri Hatcher says they could be walking the red carpet together. "Eva and I started to discuss going together last night," said Hatcher. "She came up to me and said, 'Be my date,' (laughs)."
When Robinson asked Longoria for her best French line, the actress, who is learning to speak the language, since it is Parker's native tongue, laughed and responded, "It is all sweet whispers just among us."
"Access Hollywood" is produced by NBC and distributed by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. Rob K. Silverstein is the executive producer.
