The 4400 Return for a Third Season

Variety says USA is bringing back The 4400 for a third season. Production on 13 new episodes will begin next year for a summer 2006 premiere.
Sci-fi drama's second season ranked as summer's No. 1 cable show in adults 18-49, edging demographics for The Closer and The Shield. Though down from the first season's knockout Nielsens -- The 4400 was initially presented as a limited five-episode event -- most recent cycle maintained a solid average of 3.7 million total viewers.
Cast members, who include Billy Campbell, Joel Gretsch and Jacqueline McKenzie, are all expected to return for the third season.
