Had to dig this thread up, and what the heck was I typing the last time I posted in here? Obviously, I was writing with a lisp.
Last night we watched "Good Burger"; LX's friend loaned her a tape of it for the weekend - the movie is so old it's still on VHS. LX and her friends occasionally will bring up this movie, quoting from it - apparently it's a classic from their generation, I suppose, like "Grease" is from most of ours. A Nickelodeon movie, there's no swearing, blood, guts, suggestive scenes - it's good-clean-slapstick-fun, and it features a very young Keenan I-can't-remember-his-last-name, and Kal Whose-last-name-I-never-knew. But, dang, it was stupid, and I can't believe I sat through the whole thing. It was like watching live-action SpongeBob with B-movie actors instead of C-creatures.
And though there was no charge for admission, and the popcorn was free, I paid $10 to watch the movie. Aching feet from an extremely busy week at the nursery, and I told LX I'd watch it with her if she gave me a foot massage. She charged $5 for 15 minutes-per-foot.
It was worth it.

"Drumline", starring a very young, or at least 8 years younger than he is now, Nick Cannon. I've seen it about umpteen million times, in bits and pieces, but this is only the second time I've caught it from the beginning and watched through to the end. It's one of those movies I have to stop and watch for at least a little while every time I see it's on T.V.. Watching the drummers perform is mesmerizing.
I'm a little bummed about it actually.... "Drumline", not the movie but the concert, is coming to a music theater near here tomorrow. It features top drummers from numerous Southern college marching bands. I really wanted to go; I love marching bands. I know the girls would love it too. Hubs especially - he used to be in his high-school marching band playing both the trombone and the drums. I called for tickets a few weeks ago, and shoot - $40 for nose-bleed seats, and $55 for semi-decent. Over $160 for the four of us - sorry for us, can't afford it for just a couple hours at the most of entertainment.
The movie will have to suffice.

I've not seen this movie. I'll have to look for it on the satellite grid. If I ever upgrade to a DVR satellite box, I'll set it up to record whenever it comes on.

If you like marching bands, especially the drums, and lots of fancy footwork, it's worth a watch, Joxie.
As a sidenote, the tapping noise of my old keyboard that Hubs keeping threatening to replace because it makes too much noise when I type, now reminds me of the tapping on the snare drums in the movie. I wonder if I type really, really, really fast if it'll sound like a drum-roll. Course, it'd be illegible, because I can't actually type really, really, really fast.
