I thought it was reformatted, Gig. Neighbor guy who does this for a living was supposed to do it, but dang, is it sloooowww. Also, today, I could not view any of my e-mails. The response was something to the effect of "Details are not available. Disc space may be low." Ok, maybe not that technical sounding, (pfft), but something to that effect.
I'm ready to scrap the whole DSL thing, plug in my old computer, go back to Windows 98 and call up my old dial-up service to re-open my account. This switch has been a nightmare - everyday spiraling a bit further downward.
I see LucyStar re-opened Cyrene's over in the Xena forum. I could use a drink. Later.

After a week of frustration and poor customer service, Hubs got tired of it and cancelled our new DSL service. Or tried to. They hung up on him - after putting him on hold for eons. I took over, and got hung up on twice, after again being put on hold for forever. Finally got it cancelled.
Called up the old dial-up provider, and guess what? A friendly customer service rep after only a minute of hold time. Guess what else? They now have DSL service. So back to the dial-up, (feels comfy), and they are sending the DSL equipment to be installed in a week or two. Not as quick to get here as the "big" company, but worth the wait, just to have a customer service department that will actually service the customer.

Out of curiosity, how much money did you spend on your "new" computer? I bought mine brand new last year for about $470 from Tiger Direct. Not only have I've never had any problems with it (although my browser is another story), but it's a lot faster than my old computer. My point is, I would never buy a used computer unless I had absolutely no other choice. If you got a message saying your disk space may be low, then it sounds like they didn't do something right. Now as for your newly cancelled DSL service... Don't they all know how quickly word of mouth spreads when a customer gets bad customer service?? If some company did that to me, I'd tell them that not only am I cancelling my service with them, but I will now be telling everyone I know about my experience, as well as their corporate offices. If corporate didn't rectify the situation, I would contact the BBB as well as post it publicly, so people would know to avoid them like the plague. I'm sorry you had to go through that garbage.
