I thought Uber ment something like "uber icecream" meaning the best icecream possible, the icecream that puts other icecreams to shame. hmh, did that make sense?

Perhaps the first Über = Über (as in FanFic Über)... so it would read:
Über über alles = Über Over All

Well.... I didn't say it made any sense... just that maybe the first Über was suppose to remain as Uber.... As for what it does mean, you'll have to ask the Webmaster: Kym Taborn... cause I've no clue.
Oooh! Maybe it means:
A Place For Über -- As in... The Place For Uber FanFic
So, does that make sense?

okay, let´s say the first " Über" is a word createt by fan fiction and it means that Xena and Gabb share one soul. That means, that they find together and it´s not importend which time or place. Maybe it discribe that the relationship between Xena & Gabb is more than a normal relationship and they always exist in time and space. But than you must write the 2. über and alles together = überall And why they written this in german? ( like " Clicken der Maus here ") we say to this "Denglish" (german & english together as one language)

Maybe it's supposed to be loosely translated "Everything ÜberXena" but she thought "Über über alles" sounded better than "Alles über über."

Where is Kym anyway... she usually pops in out of the blue and answers these questions when I least expect it... she must be busy with the store that's being added to the website.

Howdy all, sorry for taking so long to get over here.
First, the Uber section of Whoosh.org is in an area called "Uber uber Alles". It is a pun on the expression "Deustchland uber Alles" which means Germany (or Germanness) over all, or Germany is (Germans are supreme), etc. The expression was the first line of the German national anthem. The NAZIs used this expression to the hilt especially when justifying their invasions of Poland and Czechosolvakia, and the Final Solution. After 1945 the first stanza was removed and even though Germany still uses the same national anthem, that verse is still verbotten.
The pun basically states that Uber is supreme.
Second, I was the one who coined the expression Uber. Probably my most significant contribution to Xena fandom! I used to be a musicologist and was trained in a German form of musical analysis called the Schenkarian Method. This method analysizes music on three levels, the whole, the medium (uber), and the minute (ur). I adapted the terms Ur and Uber when analyzing the first types of Uber fan fiction and the Uber use caught on. The Ur would be the concept of Xena and Gabrielle (not the actual Xena and Gabrielle, because they too turned out to be ubers), and the Uber would be the different manifestations of the concept throughout different times and cultures.
Third, I can talk history of uber until the cows come home. It is a topic near and dear to my heart. Uber still fascinates me. I am still in the process of writing a few papers about Uber and I am still researching the history of uber that I want to write sometime.
