"Armless fun". BOLL. Funny Ernie, and I almost choked on my coffee when I read it, although the "armless" scene, to me, is one of the more disturbing in the series for the sheer violence inflicted upon our heroine - even more so than Xena's headless body in FIN, (she was already dead when the body was shown - whereas here, she's very much alive, and seeing her flop and writhe on the ground in pain was a bit too much for my tastes).
Loved the episode, despite all the controversy surrounding it - but then again, I'm not Hindu and don't know if I'd feel otherwise if I were.

Sorry. ;D
Yes I agree, that's a very disturbing scene. Rightly or wrongly, death becomes almost run of the mill in an action show, yet mutiliation is far more shocking.

Oh no, don't be sorry. Drinking my coffee again now, and still almost spewed it over the computer screen....still laughing. "armless fun" <snort>
Ok, so maybe I'm too easily amused, but she did get them back; three-fold, I think.
And you are definately right; death is expected, (unless it's the hero), but mutilation is a shocker.

With all due respect to the Hindu religions, why was it such a controversey to depict their God in the way that it was?. (I have not seen the original episode only the edit/revised version, and it didn't seem to be in bad taste).
Whereas many tv shows, movies etc depict the Son of God we mostly think of when we think of religion, Jesus, in forms even less flattering!
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just saying that fair is fair.
If they are offended by the show depicting Krishna in a different light as they wish to see him. Then I sort of feel like saying 'join the club' because lots of shows depict the christian God humorously or even saying 'he doesn't exsist' rather blatantly and sometimes with malice.
We have all learned to take these things as jokes and nothing more so as not to get upset by them, so I dont understand why they cannot do the same?
