The following story contains spoilers for the current season of "Alias" on ABC.
This season saw yet another re-tooling of the ABC spy-drama, only this time, it included the death of "Alias'" leading man Michael Vaughn, played by actor Michael Vartan.
The death has been praised by some as a breath of new life into a stale series, however others view it as just another nail in the "Alias'" coffin. But according to TV Guide, we haven’t seen the last of Michael Vaughn.
Well, good news to all Vaughn fans as the listings magazine has confirmed the rumors circulating the web that the actor will be making a return to the show, and it will happen before the series takes its extended hiatus over Christmas due to Jennifer Garner's pregnancy.
"The deal officially closed late last week, and Vartan returned to work on the 'Alias' set yesterday," TV Guide reported. "Please don't ask me who he's playing or how long his return engagement will last, because that I can't tell you. (Mostly 'cause, well, I don't know.)"
But Vartan is not the only familiar face set to return to the series, now in it's fifth, and possibly final, season. David Anders, known to fans as The Insidious Mr. Sark, is also reported to be returning before the end of the year. Additionally, show producers are apparently still in talks to have Lena Olin reprise her role of Irina Derevko. Mia Maestro is also said to be in negotiations to return.
"Alias" airs on ABC each Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
