Whew. Boy oh boy, dont you hate those weeks that are so nuts you cant wait til theyre over, but you have so much crap to do you wish theyd never end? I'm such a procrastinator that that's been happening about once a month since age 12. Expecting it doesnt make it easier though and changing your ways is just as hard. At least this one isnt entirely my fault . I'm trying to move into a house by aug 1st. Actually, before aug first so i dont have to pay storage rent. Has anyone else noticed what day it is? Thats right - the 23rd of july. That leaves me 9 days to pick a place, be approved, and move in, counting today. Aint gon' happen.
So yeah erco, thank goodness its friday, but now the real push starts. Hope all of you get to have a nice relaxing weekend with no major decisions to make.
Phalon, a couple years ago we painted our living room arizona sunset (orange essentially, and Im the one that painted it) We all loved it, but I cant say everyone else did. One aunt always complimented but, unbeknownst to us, was harboring a secret hatred. Just recently she moved into our old house and as soon as she signed the lease she said "first thing to go is that awful orange paint!" Can you believe it? She then proceeded to paint it pink.

Hey Eirene, I'm in the gardening business too. A certified nurseyman, I'm called, though I'm more partial to the term 'certified nurserywoman', or even 'certified nurseryperson'. Today, at the nursery, I gave a tour to thirtyfive kindergarden aged children of our children's garden and pond area. Too fun - they thought everything was way cool. Geeze, in two weeks I've got to do a talk for a seminar we're having and dang, if I'm prepared. Ah, well, I do better under pressure, and will procrastinate until the night or two before. Thinking about starting the gardening thread back up over in General Discussions, but like the work in my own garden, I've been procrastinating that too, (hey, Dobs, we have something in common there.)
Eroc, the Azalea blossoms look beautiful. So glad it worked. But I gotta ask, can you stand the open, free-flowing look, or did you get the pruners out this year? Prune lightly, if you must, and in spring after blooming. Too late now, or you'll snip of the flowers for next year. Sorry, if we talked about that prior. A lot of people like to prune Azaleas and Rhododendron.
Guess what? I am loving my kitchen in all its blazing glory! Got the curtins up, pictures hung and got a cool wrought iron thing to hang on the one bare wall to break up all that goldenness. A friend's hub is coming to put on the cabinetry hardware tomorrow, (hubs arm is in a cast and only so much he can do with his left arm. Drilling holes in my newly painted cabinets is not one of them). Found some cool looking pewter vintage knobs and drawer pulls, and the place is looking sharp. A lot to do still though, but all the touch-ups, painting the back door and mudroom door, and putting up baseboards will have to wait until after the guests leave and Hubs arm is back into shape. Using a powersaw is another thing I'm not quite willing to let him do without two good arms for fear he'll end up with no arms at all.
Good to see the coffee pot is back up and running. Working tomorrow, and sometimes one needs a jump-start.

Thanks again Joxcenia, but I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. I typed in the following:
"Gabrielle, mi konithis! Erhorme! Gabrielle" "Gabrielle, se parakalo. Na minis eke pou ese. Mi konithis." "Gabrielle, ti nomizis kanis? Xeris pe o kala to na me xepnisis etsi! ese sta kala sou?" "Gabrielle, stamata na knonesai. Thelo na matho un ehis htipisis." "Efharisto ton theo then se htipisa. Min do kanis pali!" "Ese sigori oti then esair htipimani?"
And got:
"Gabrielle, not konithis! Erhorme! Gabrielle "Gabrielle, se parakalo. Na minis eke pou ese. Not konithis."? "Gabrielle, ti nomizis kanis? Dry pe well with xepnisis etsi! ese in good sou?"? "Gabrielle, it stops knonesai. Thelo na matho un ehis htipisis." "Efharisto the Theo then in htipisa. Min do kanis pali!" "Ese sigori oti then esair htipimani?"
I'm wondering if this is really greek or if maybe the spelling is wrong, which is possible because the story has a lot of mispellings. Any way, I'm hoping someone can help. Like I said, I get the general drift but I'm dying of curiosity now.
Phalon- Glad to hear the kitchen turned out well. I guess we're not going to get the reality show then?
HobsonsChoice-- Are you the same Hobs that helped write the Xena Warrior Milkmaid thing with TZ and Silk? That whole thing was too funny. By the way, Arizona Sunset has got to be better than Barbie Pink or even Pepto Pink.
Eirene-- I think all bosses deserve a little insanity once in a while. LOL
If nobody minds I think I'll put my feet up and have a rootbeer. One more day then I get a day off. YAY for me! Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

You're very welcome...
I read in a magazine a long time ago that oversea they can get really long vacations...
I´m the only one in our firma, they can take three weeks off. And the reason is, that the kindergarden has closed. But in december and january i ´ll be a month at home. Than we´ve nothing to do. But ´til you can stay so long at home, you must work in spring, summer and autumn much longer. Or you get workless for 2 month. BTW, i have more holiday as they others, because i´m incurable sick. So i´ve 4 days more. Eirene

Wow Wee there sure is a lot of talk about YooHoo in here recently. If you all wanted me to stop in you didn't have to bribe me. I would have chatted! Oh, the calming days of YooHoo Spewing and Pie Throwing...those were the good ol' ones, weren't they. It is a good thing however that we have all grown past our childish ways and matured into the new level of adulthood we all posess...eh? Isn't it? I am sad to say it has been a long time since I have spewed the YooHoo, but still drink it occasionally. I do love that stuff! Ice cold and in a can...the bottle stuff doesn't cut it. I do remember your theory Hobs about the Xena/YooHoo thing...if you look at Phalon you will see that it must only be Half and Half. She is a YooHoo hater. OH, the horror of it all. One day though I will get my hands on her innocent young ones and they will see the power of this choco drink...and then she will regret all of the bad things she has said about it.
Okay, moving on...I hope everyone is doing well. I am happy to see that you Phalon are happy with your kitchen. I just hope it doesn't cause any type of shock to your houseguests coming later on. You should probably pass out shades at the door as they enter. Okley's would work really well I bet.
Okay gang... I am supposed to be working but I am goofing. So I must go.
Lovies to you all!~XG

You, SweetPea shall keep your hands off my children. It is bad enough that my once chocolate-hating Little Xena has now discovered the joys of chocolate, (I'm surprised it took her nearly nine years), and is in the process of corrupting Baby Phalon. Chocolate milk is now a staple in our refrigerater. And that is bad enough - mainly because I also love the stuff. Less fat than two percent milk though, so it can't be all that bad for you, yes?
Yoo-hoo, on the other hand, most likely has no redeeming qualities. It, Xengab, is a canned fake milk artifically flavored chocolate drink. I would never suggest trying it, although some people around here proclaim the wonderous merits of it. I've never tried it, of course, it just sounds icky. That, and I like to tease SweetPea and give Dobs a hard time.

Erco said:Click here to see the closeup. Nice, Erco! I had a tooth pulled a couple days ago, so I’m doing MUCH better than I was the day before. Although I don’t have any dentures and only needed one tooth pulled, I had it done at Affordable Dentures in Mishawaka, IN. They only charge $55 for x-ray and $55/tooth, and they do a great job with courteous service. I highly recommend them! Thanks to this, I’ve also stayed away from coffee for the last few days, so hopefully I can stop living on the stuff. But I think I’ll have some cyber coffee. It’ll go great with the cake. Thanks, Eirene! Hobs, I know what you mean about wanting it to end but not being ready for it. I really had to bust my butt to get finished up by 10pm tonight. I’m just glad I don’t have the stress of trying to pick a new place, be approved, and move in all in 9 days. Does your current place allow you to go month to month?

I hate when that happens. I have a french phrase from a book that I read a few months ago, and tried to translate. I got the gist of what was written, but wish I knew the actual translation.
Maybe I'll try the site Joxie mentioned - if I can find the little scrap of paper that I wrote it on somewhere in the bottomless pit of my desk.
She is, Scrappy. Extremely hilarious and entertaining. Quite the craporiffic girl.

It could be Latin. I thought of that except that the author specifically states in the disclaimer that she got the translations from a greek friend. I thought about contacting the author but I'm fairly new to the fanfic thing and the story was posted like six years ago, so I'm pretty sure the email is no longer correct. I might try anyway. Thanks for the help.
I apologize for mistaking you Hobs. I'm always up for a good joke though. care to share? But on a side note..if anyone wants to read why I thought "Xena Warrior Milkmaid was so funny let me know I'll post the site. Fair warning.....not for the faint of heart or the under age.
Eirene-do you have a version of the fairytale "Bearskin" in Germany? Or how about "Death and the Soldier"? Would love to hear them. They are my favorites.
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Mind if I put my feet up and have some ice cream? Made a chocolate buterscotch cake yesterday. I'll leave what's left on the bar if anyone wants some.

We got here a lot of versions from fairytales of soldier and death. Which one you mean? Here is a version or the Bearskin tale. It doesn't have the flair that the one my mother told me as a child has, but, you get the idea. www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~spok/grimmtmp/076.txtHere's a version of the soldier and death. Again it doesn't have the imaginative flair that the one my mother tells but you get the baisics. www.angelfire.com/me3/muppets/Story_Soldier.htmlI would be very interested in hearing the differances between the American versions and the German versions.

Okay, scrappy1 The first fairytale that you discribe named in german "The soldier and the devil" Once upon a time a soldier, his name was Christian, cames from the battlefield after a great war. The war indurance almost 20 years and all what he´ve - his parents, his brother all died. Nobody was waiting for him and so he sit down on a street and considered about his life. He felt pity to himself and wished his own soul to the devil. The devil hear them and asked him why he wanna lose his own soul. "for what i should living for? I´ve no home, no family, no money - i got nothing left!! Why i must live yet?!" As the devil hear this, he make a offer to him. "if you don´t wash and barber yourself for almost seven years - than i´ll you give mo´money, they you´ll ever need in your life. Christian was agree with the offer and so he said to him: "we met us here again in seven years!" Tomorrow comes part 2 - i´ve written this in english, because i believe, it don´t make any sense if i give you a link to a german fairytale - or do you can read german? In that case... Have a good and sleep tidly! Eirene

Hi scrappy! & glass of for everybody who wanna listen the fairytale.... *sit down on chair, take the book, look trough spectacless and start to read...* ... after the discussion was finished, Christian walks away. He travels trough the darkest forest, highest mountains and saw places they was so strange, that nobody would believe it. Three years he spent in travel - his hair and beard grew long and longer and since he met the devil, he has never toke a bath. Now he was dirty, black and smelt so bad, that the people begins to believe, that he´s the devil for himself. But Christian doesn´t disturb that - tha half time was over and he was sure that the rest of time goes bye too. One day he came to a ranch, where lived a old man with his beautyful doughter. As he saw the old guy, he asked him for work. The farmer looked at him and was agree to let him work for a place to sleep, eat and drink. Christian was a very good farm-labourer and after a few months he makes the work all alone. At the time he fall in love to the farmersdoughter and she falls in love to him. A year after another goes by and from day to day it would hard and harder for him. > Now a bath and a barber< he starts to think and watched of his long and broken nails. He loved her so much and he would do anything for her, only one year was left. One day, a really very, very old man comes to the farm and started to talk with the doughter. As Christian saw him, he discovered that the old man was the devil in his own person. After he left her, he asked her what he wants from her. She said nothing, but from this day - she asked him every morning why he don´t take a bath. After a while he went away, but he promised her that he came back one day. Day for day and month for month goes away. ------ [glow=red,2,300]Hey, scrappy! Don´t sleep![/glow] The fairytale is not finished yet!!------ Christian traveled again trough the darkest forest, about the highest mountains - back to the place, where he met once the devil. He makes a fire to warm up and waiting for the devil. It needs no time and the devil shows up. " You win and must do what i´ve promised. I´ll give you more money, than you ever need in your life!" said the devil. " You´ve promised too to bath and barber me by your own hands! Lets do it! " Christians face shows a great grin and the devil must barber his beard, cut him the hair and nails. After that was done, he gave him new clothes. "I´ll never made a deal with you, as long you live!" said the devil and went away. In this time the old Farmer died and his doughter gave up all hope, that Christian ever came back. Her neighbour begins to ask her for marriage. But so often he asked her, so often she said "NO!" One day the neighbour came with the major and said to her :" You marry me or i´ll take you your ranch away! " But in this moment a fine young man came straight up the street. "Leave her alone! Right now!" the sound of his voice showed no debt, that he was a lord. And so the neighbour wents away - together with his friends. As the doughter was alone, the young man wanna take her in his arms, but she begins to scream. " stop to scream - it´s me! You don´t recognize me?! It´s me - i´m your Christian!" He tolds her, whats happend in this time and both marry and lived happy everly after. * looking in the round and see all Xenites sleep all over the world * ;D That was the short version! Have a nice day Eirene
