Well, sorry to hear that and thanks for letting us know. I haven't been holding out for another Xena game anytime soon either. Good news: when doing a search for Xena Gameboy, my review comes up first page with two 'useful' votes already. Now if we could just get a discussion going on Amazon.com...
I think if we want a game or movie we will have to do it ourselves, like the group (I forget who) that continued the Xena series in teh yahoo group format. Is that still going? Something that might be a good next step is a Xena play or episode done in audio, with different volunteers reading the parts, then sending the audio and one volunteer splicing it altogether and uploading it for folks to hear. I always resented that Lucy and Renee and company didn't get to use their native accents much through the whole series...here's our chance to 'make it so' (in the words of the good Captain).
Cae in point: two good films, 'Krull' and 'Conan the Barbarian' had fantastic soundtracks that had long been out of print and the studios refused to re-release them. The fans got P'O'd and first began circulating tapes and cd's of the music (I sent and recieved to and from England, Canada, and Australia for instance) and then audio versions online. It took a good couple of years, but lo and behold! we got our new re-releases.
The powers-that-be in the Hollyweird world DO take notice of these things. Right now fans are involved in a campaign to gt one last 'Columbo' done before Peter Falk leaves or develops feeble-mindedness..he's about 80. The studios won't do one; we're threatening boycotts but I don't think there are enough of us to make a difference tht way. We may go the route of Columbo plays and audio books ourselves....
The powers-that-be owe us fans, I think. I (and I hope others) still want to know who daddy is; the origin of the sword (first and second) and some kind of closure with Xena. We know from various episodes that Xena and Gabrielle reunite and go on forever in one way or another; that means there has to be a way for Xena to come back from the other side and take up her place beside Gabrielle. I mean besides fan fiction...
I was of the opinion that the ladies,in a feature film, didn't want anywhere near the physical roles they had in the series. So we fans may have to cut them some slack and let them take smaller roles if we want them to come back at all.
Hollywood---what do they know anyway....poof!!!
