What a great interview. Lucy is hilarious! When you even have the crew laughing (did you hear that in the background?), you know you're truly funny. She's bright, interesting, quotable - a dream interview. And she looks splendid.
I must admit, I'm disappointed that Lucy did nude scenes. And I'm disappointed that a show that Rob and Sam are behind would ask her to. I hope she doesn't reveal much.
Needless to say, I hope this show is a big success.

Funny, but I was disappointed that Lucy decided to do nude scenes too. I truly don't think you need nudity to show that a couple is having sex, or that a character is taking a shower/bath, etc. I, personally, don't think there is ever a legitimate reason to do nudity. But that's just me.
And foul language too. There's too much of it in shows/movies these days, when a few well placed ones will do. Again, that's just me.

We agree on both counts, Mia.
I'm pretty squeamish about sex scenes, in general. I don't need you to show me what they did between the big, passionate kiss and the "ain't life grand" grins. Granted, there are sex scenes in certain movies that do bring something to the story - "Meet Joe Black" comes immediately to mind **boy does it!**. But too often, I think they're just prurience on the part of the director. Same goes for on-screen nudity.
I have a spicier vocabulary than I should. But I dislike excessive foul language in movies, too, Mia. We started watching the Halle Berry/Bruce Willis flick "Perfect Stranger" the other night, and were annoyed by Halle's frequent use of the F word. It just wasn't necessary. And it made me take her and her character less seriously.
UNRELATED NOTE: But then, it's tough to take most of Halle's movies seriously, including "Perfect Stranger". For an Oscar winner, she has had more than her share of real turkeys, IMO. The question is, does she get an equal shot at the good scripts? Does she simply have really bad taste? Or does she just take whatever pays best?

One IMDb.com user posted that Lucy and the other women shouldn't use a merkin. In fact, they should be clean shaven. That was the way of it in Ancient Rome.

But there were quite a few scenes with nudity in Xena, or with implied sexual activity. Like the scene in Legacy when the two were bathing after being caught in a sandstorm. Or is it "full frontal" that people are objecting to? Then again, look at all the nude art from classical Greece. But I agree with the point about excessive foul language and gratuitous, explicit sex not adding anything(in fact detracting) from films.

Waiting for above links to load....
Alright.... I don't get to see her till season two, and then awhile after that since I don't have cable. She's not the focus, she's playing a peripheral character. Well, I didn't exactly think she'd be Spartacus...
As for nudity, the attitude it's done with makes all the difference in the world. You can have it all over the place if done in a sort of celebratory spirit. If it's in a scene just because characters are having sex though, and the sex itself isn't the point, it's probably there just to be gaped at. That's depressing.

According to SharonDel on the Official Xena FanClub page, there will be a second season.
BTW: I've added links to this show's blog, twitter, & message board in the second post above.

Wouldn't be great to create a Spartacus Blood and Sand Section on this forum on the TV show Area? I think there will be lots of discussions as the series is just begun

LAWLESS Beauty, Blood and Sand BY ANDREW FISH
Are you finished shooting “Spartacus” for now?
Yes, it sounds like they’re going to push back shooting the next season until May, and we’re in talks for me to be in the second season — because I wasn’t supposed to be. It could all fall apart. I might not be in it; I don’t know! We’ll see.
