Yeah, I actually wanted it to be GabrielleOnNutbread, but that was too long. Shame, too, because that is one of my favorite episodes. But you knew that already.

Yeah, I actually wanted it to be GabrielleOnNutbread, but that was too long. Shame, too, because that is one of my favorite episodes. But you knew that already. You should be able to use the handle of "Gabrielle On Nutbread" now that you have your account set up. The limit is usually when you're signing up.
I didn't know what handle I wanted to go by when I created this account, so I joined with csr1 and then after joining I came up with Mini-Mia. Several members have changed their usernames from the one they signed up with, so don't feel like you have to stick with gabriellennutbread.

Oooooh I didn't know that. LOL, how slow am I? I'm not exactly the most computer-literate person in the world, though. >_< Thanks!

You're very welcome. Some forums allow members to change their handles, and others won't, so don't worry that you didn't know that Proboards allows you to make changes.

here's an idea; thrift stores tend to carry things that aren't in style anymore. that would be a good place to look for stuff like that. or maybe TJ Maxx. just some thoughts, and some places you might try. CHKD has good thrift stores in my area. aaaah, that's where you got the thrift store idea. thanks, Jon, this is how we found the boots!

I'm failing to find posts to make useful comments on this morning, so I'll bore people by just saying that the Gabrielle costume pictured in the first post is my favorite, especially combined with the coat. I keep saving captures with the intent of doing a drawing, but my poor ill eyeballs don't want me to.

The skirt looks more like shorts. The leather flaps appear to be hiding the leg split.

I always got the impression that the brown leather bit with the flap plus a sort of "belt" was one skirt-ish unit, with the light orange-ish thing under it being a bit diaper-ish, something separate wrapped around underneath it. I've wondered if the orange bit was added for modesty after the designer had submitted just the leather part. Then the reddish s6 version was designed to cover that area too, maybe.
Anyway, great detail, including those knobby things hanging from the halter.

I don't know what I've been thinking looking all over the web for details on this costume. I have the whole flippin' DVD set! It's true, I'm blonde. I have taken some screen shots to share. They are here: gallery.me.com/rubycreek#100134 There is a really good shot of the belt and the back of her green top, which I never see when searching for these things. If you look at the first image, can you tell me what's going on with that skirt? Does it have shorts too? I watched the way it falls when she gets up (King Con, hate that ep BTW) but I really can't tell. Grr. ETA: I just realized you girls are after a later costume... I'll just have to force myself to take some more screen shots. (And watch some XWP before bed!)

The top: I'd say get a green sports bra and buy green material and sew/glue over it. Get some embroidery emblems and sew/glue them on too.
You could get soft foam for the belt, and paint on the design. Maybe get foam for the boots too, and glue them over an old pair of shoes.
And I think her skirt is what I call a scooter skirt, but others call a skort. Which is shorts made to look like a skirt.

I have some proof! Yay! Ok, why does the attachment not show up? Ok, I put the evidence at the beginning of that gallery that I posted above. I will be adding to it randomly so I can access it on my phone when I'm out shopping. Feel free to share it with friends, especially as halloween and eventually Xena Con approach.

I don't know why the attachment isn't there. Somehow it didn't upload. There's a size limit.

Oh yes I do! I identify more strongly with her than any other character I've ever seen or read (we share a love for lanky brunettes, travel, human rights, etc...) . Then there's the fact that we share the basic physical description, so, yeah. Joxie, the image was within the size limit, weighing in at just over 500k.

Then I don't know what could have gone wrong. As far as I know it would have been the first time anyone has uploaded an attachment. At least I don't recall anyone else complaining about one not loading. You can try it again and see if it'll work. Maybe the page froze while loading?
