OMG, Moonglum! That avatar! It's perfect!!! It's just the way I pictured Jason in my head.
Loving yours too, Vox.
I'm feeling sad for Letitia, poor woman. Looking forward to seeing what happens next - hoping I don't need to get out the box of tissues.

Half a post from me. The other half to come soon...I hope. And then we'll be on our way....whichever way that shall be.
I found something I thought was kind of interesting in a book I have titled "Eastern Asia and Classical Greece: The History of the World", (it's one in a series that I never thought would come in handy; I never dreamed I'd use to to write a bit of weird fiction).
Anyway....this is in regards to the linguistics of the time period which is around when our story takes place.
"Quarrel violently among themselves though they did, and cherish the traditional and emotional distinctions of (the regions), the Greeks were always very conscious that they were different from other peoples. This could be practically important; Greek prisoners of war, for example, were in theory not to be enslaved, unlike “barbarians”. The word expresses self-conscious Hellenism in essence but is more inclusive and less dismissive than it is in modern speech; the barbarians were the rest of the world, those who did not speak an intelligible Greek (and its dialects), but who made a sort of ‘bar-bar’ noise which no Greek could understand. The great festivals of the Greek year, when people from many cities came together, were occasions to which only the Greek-speaker was admitted."
HA! Scrappy, you're a barbarian! I knew it all along. <smile>

Very nice. Looking forward to more.
Ya know, I was wondering last night about whether or not Conan or Kull were in this time frame. Or Beastmaster.

Nice posts. The story quickens and moves apace.
Now you know why I don't get involved in the language issues in my writing. The Gods 'Universal Translator' comes in very handy and solves a multitude of issues. Lol.

k i got back home and posted what i had written before i even read the bard's banter. my post has nothing to do with any of your characters, though, so i don't think it'll mess up anything that scrappy and phalon have planned. seems the story has split into several stories anyway. lol. hope you guys like my post. and i agree with phalon, mg, your avatar is perfect.

What Scrappy said. It's when you're working with several bards, and have to be watchful about stepping on toes, that you need to be more careful about how much you post. You and Aphrodite seem to have a good tag team thing going on, so post away.
