Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship - from the movie "Mannequin", a real slice of the '80s, featuring the very cute Andrew McCarthy and a young Kim Cattrall, long before she was a big star on "Sex & The City"

So glad to watch Alicia Keys win a song of the year Grammy last night for "No One". I still love that song!

Oh, Siren - I watched part of the Grammy's last night, and OMG, could not believe my ears. "I want to check you for ticks". No, no, no - that can't actually be a song. Ick, ick, ick. I was hearing things, yes? And those big, neon flashing things were not actually supposed to be ticks, but just swirly designs, right?

He's boring, he doesn't sing well, he's self-indulgent with his guitar solos, and I think he's smug. I have a feeling that Brad thinks he's smarter than most people, and certainly smarter than his country audience. IMO, the song "Ticks", though clever, gave a poor impression of country music in the Grammys setting. I wish he'd picked something else to sing.

Thanks to my "Lyrically Speaking" post, I'm now stuck on "Sometimes Goodbye" by Terri Clark. But that's not a bad thing.

I read something similar, Joxie. In the article I read, it also mentioned that women are more likely to get ear-worms then men.
My latest...So Cold by Breaking Benjamin. Though it is not an ear-worm factor, I think this one has something to do with the weather.

Me too, Siren! Thanks for the link; I probably would have never heard it otherwise, (I checked out a few others on the sidebar too - fun music). Now it's stuck in my head.....as are images of the guys' really bad clothing and hair styles. And I can't decide if those, or the expressions on their faces are the cheesiest.

The video fascinated me, because I couldn't decide if it was new, or if they somehow superimposed the girls into an old video. Turns out that it is a frame-for-frame reproduction of a scene from "Valley Of The Dolls 2", a horrific movie written by my beloved Roger Ebert! Where they got the costumes and all those craaazy people, I don't know. But what a blast they must have had. I wish I'd been part of it! Here's an NPR interview, where they talk about the making of the video, how they got together, etc. Ah to be that young again! www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=16243330

Unfortunately songs keep popping into my head because of thread titles I've just seen. I don't have to like the song for this to happen. Unpleasant.

"You Don't Know Me" - recorded dozens, if not hundreds, of times. It was written in 1955 by Cindy Walker and Eddy Arnold. Among the artists who've covered this wonderful song are Emmylou Harris, Elvis, Bob Dylan, Mickey Gilley, and Ray Charles. Ray re-recorded it with Diana Krall on his duets album a few years ago. Man, lucky Diana! Lucky Ray! Willie Nelson recorded it for a Cindy Walker tribute album, released just weeks before her death.
God, I love this song.
