The Passing Of The Train - Rhonda Vincent (bluegrass) Your post (not the song) reminded me of 'Big Iron Horses' by Restless Heart, Siren, and that's what is thundering through my mind now.

Cool! I like your taste in music, mg!
New favorite: "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis - Of course, I hear about it AFTER it hits #1. Always late, that's me!
I like her song "Better In Time", too.

How do you all get good songs that you like stuck in your heads?
I can listen to a bunch of songs I like, but it's the irritating one that I can't stand, (usually sung by Hubs), that'll stick with me. Grrrrr.
For the last week or so, I keep coming back to "The Cover of a Rolling Stone" by I forgot who.

Rule One: Never admit to the bad songs stuck in your head. For every single, blissful day of 'Positively Fourth Street', there will be at least three days when you can't stop singing 'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool. Rule Two: For three days in every four, do not handle guns. Rule Three: When in a crowd and singing aloud, sing softly. You can always pretend you were mumbling. Drooling at this point can be an advantage. 'The Cover Of Rolling Stone' was by Dr. Hook, by the way. ARRGH NO, NOT SYLVIA'S MOTHER, PLEASE. GIVE ME THAT GUN.

"Rule Two: For three days in every four, do not handle guns." Lol! Your talk of Dr. Hook brought a pun to mind. In high school choir, our teacher wanted to perform a medley of songs featuring girls' names. I piped up with "Sharon The Night Together" by Dr. Hook. ;D Don't ask me how I'm lucky to be stuck with good songs, Gams. I won't think about it too much, for fear that it'll change! For the last couple of days, I've been stuck on a song I've mentioned here before, "No One" by Alicia Keys. I sing the chorus over and over again, nearly driving myself crazy. yinyang, my young niece just introduced me to Within Temptation this past weekend. My first reaction was, "What a blatant rip-off of Evanescence!". But it seems that Within Temptation has been around longer than Evanescence. So, who is ripping-off who? I wonder if they've always sounded alike, and looked alike. At any rate, their uncanny resemblance reminds me that a bunch of bands tried to imitate the Beatles' look and sound, back in the day. Later, a rash of girl groups followed in the wake of the Go Gos and Dixie Chicks. A gaggle of gals in hip-huggers surfaced after Shania Twain hit it big. And a rash of look-alike hat acts followed Garth Brooks. Within Temptation Evanescence

Moonglum, I'm thinking it's a damned good thing I don't know the song "'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool"!
And I wonder if not handling guns is for the protection of Hubs, who usually puts these irritating songs in my head, (on purpose, I must add, because he thinks it's funny), or to keep me from putting myself out of my own misery.
Wow, Siren - the resemblance is uncanny! I've never heard "Within Temptation", but will have to see if I can find them on Youtube when I have more time, (I'm in the midst of the morning rush right now). I'm not sure who is the bigger fan of Evanescence - BP or LX. BP loves to sing along - complete with an empty paper-towel tube as a microphone. If my singing is bad, BP's imitation of Amy Lee is ear-bleedingly bad. Come to think of it.....I wonder if I really ought to check out "Within Temptation"; I don't know if my ears can handle the sing-alongs.

Here's a little more on the Evanescence/Within Temptation comparison. I picked the first video listed on youtube for Within Temptation, and one of the few songs I recognize from Evanescence, so this is a pretty random comparison:

Joxie - it's a darned good thing I keep the volume muted on my computer. The titles alone, after clicking on your links, were not enough (thank goodness) to get those songs stuck in my head.
Back to the Evanescence/Within Temptation comparison for just a minute...
This one is kind of interesting, (and strange)....it's Within Temptation singing, set to an Evanescence, (and Linkin Park) video.
And just for fun, check out Evanescence's "Call Me When Your Sober". Amy Lee, in some of the shots, looks amazingly similar to Lucy Lawless, (I think so anyway). It's her facial expressions in combination with her dark hair, and blue eyes.

Every time this commercial comes on, my head snaps around to watch:
I love that song! Reminds me of ELO and Alan Parsons.
