Very quiet in Merry Land this evening....although it's understandable; it is your all's night to be out on the town, afterall.
Nice story thus far; keep up the good work.

lol, i love how you took jon's suggestion of using johnny depp as tex, mia. one of my characters in as the scrolls unroll looks like johnny depp, too. lol. well, half of him, since he's a centaur, but yeah. guess i haven't actually put him in as the scrolls unroll yet though. but i'll get around to it. love this story so far, btw. can't wait to see where it goes.

I can't wait to see where it goes either. I don't plot out these things, and since I've only seen a couple of Zombie movies, I've no idea what to do next. Oh well. When I back my self in a corner like this I tend to learn from it.
I didn't plan on using Johnny Depp at first, but then I thought about him when his star first started to rise, and decided he would work. Now I gotta figure out who the others are and get images and info for them too. Maybe that will help me figure out what to do next here.

Yeah, I backed myself in the corner with zombies, so I'm oozing salty slime right now, and then I'll just go for it and let the goo fall where it may.

Ick, zombies. LOL, Kalan seems cool though. Just read the start you guys have on this story, and I can't wait to see where it goes.

I'm guessing that you plan to kill off those tourists rather quickly, Jon, since their descriptions don't even have pictures. LOL. Kalan's family looks totally awesome. You forgot to add personalities to Ron and Julia though. Don't know if you noticed.
Can't wait to see what happens.

love the post, jon. you're a really good writer. looking forward to the next post! from either of ya. i'd join the story but i hate zombies. though, i am legend is an awesome movie, jon. if i could have a zombie dog like from that movie, i might consider joining the story. *shrugs* but right now i'm kinda preoccupied with as the scrolls unroll. still. what you guys have started here looks like it'll turn into a reeeeaaaallly good story. kinda surprised other bards haven't joined ya yet, but maybe they will later.

You don't have to join the zombie storyline. You can jump in anywhere, with anything. There are lots of things going on in town ... pick one and go with it. You're not stuck with what I've made rules for either. Join with something else. Fairies ... Banshees ... Witches ... Gargoyles ... Swampthing ... whatever catches your fancy. The rules were set up as guidelines. Whatever rules you set for your character/s, leave room for others to make changes to them for their character/s. Other than that: use em ... break em ... twist em up and make em your own. Anything goes in Merry Land.

yeah, Ellie, i would LOVE to see you join in with a zombie dog, if that's what you were wanting to do. or any other kind of monster, for that matter. but if you wanna focus on As the Scrolls Unroll for now, that's cool, too. glad you're liking this story so far. you think i'm a good writer..? naaaah, you're just sayin that.

I have no plans on joining this story; none what-so-ever. Not even a “poof in/poof out” first post as I made in the Whoosher House, and the Scrolls Unroll (and look where those one-time only posts got me….huge eye-roll).
But I’ve been reading, and you’re doing a great job of it, (Joxie – stop procrastinating and get off your butt and write something!).
I had a dream last night though, that I have to tell you about.
I was standing on the shoreline with a woman; I have no I idea who she was because she’s an image my brain conjured up. In my dream though, I had some vague idea that she was my brother’s girl friend, (it really doesn’t matter ‘cuz she only played a bit part). There were some other people milling around, and they don’t matter either, except to say they were all too chicken to get in the water – no one gets in Lake Michigan in November!
Only the woman and I dove in, and we swam out to an island made up of huge broken concrete slabs. Lots more people milling around on the island, drinking, eating, and having fun it seemed, (one guy had a two-headed alligator in his lap, that apparently found its way through the sewage drains and ended up in Lake Michigan). All these milling people were smiling, and offered help to get us up on the concrete slabs….except they weren’t helping at all. They were blocking the way; every time we hoisted ourselves up, there were too many legs in the way to actually get our bodies out of the water. That was the last time I saw the woman; I don’t think she made it.
I did though, aided by a really creepy guy in a plaid shirt, (all the creepy guys in this dream wore plaid shirts). He pulled me up, and led me up to a balcony type room where he said he thought he saw Hubs, (who suddenly I was looking for). Hubs wasn’t there though, so the creepy plaid guy said he must have gone down the “other way”.
The other way was a fireman’s pole type thing with a metal gate attached to it, the idea being to step out onto the gate and twirl around (it was like a playground thingie), then once you got sufficiently dizzy, drop to a concrete slab twenty feet below where drunken people would catch you. “Don’t worry”, said CPG, “they never miss.” Yeah, right – just like the people on the edge of the island were “helpful”. I knew they’d step out of the way as soon as I dropped, and let me splatter on the concrete. I’m petrified of heights – even in my dreams, and no way was I getting out on this thing. CPG pushed me though, and then spun the gate around so fast, I thought I was going to fling out into the water, get hypothermia and be sucked down to my death.
I clung on for dear life, when the thing turned upside down! ACK! I was screaming for Hubs at this point. Finally it stopped spinning, and I slid down the pole to the now empty concrete slab. I walked inside a tower-like-thingie, and found myself in a dimly lit bar with three more CPGs, even creepier than the first CPG. There was bartender CPG, bar patron CPG, and really hairy CPG laying on a couch in very grimy pair of overalls. In fact they were all very grimy, with extremely icky greasy hair.
The bartender CPG asked me what I wanted to drink, and I told him I was way too p!ssed to even think about wanting a drink. I just wanted to find the way off the island, and this obviously wasn’t it. I turned to leave, and found the door I’d just walked through padlocked. Bartender CPG led me to another door that opened into a dark stairwell with the stairs only leading up. I entered, and all three CPGs followed. I turned to ask where the stairs went, and found Bartender CPG had bars sewn into his lips, (like the Hannibal Letcher mask), overall CPG was even more hairy than before, and I had a vague notion he was a werewolf. The last CPG was nondescript.
To my question of where the stairs led, Bartender CPG replied, “Up. We’ll let you get to the top first.”
Then my alarm rang. I thought about rolling over and going back to sleep to find out if I made it out alive. And then it hit me – I was on Zombie Island!!! I started laughing, and was thankful the noise didn’t wake up Hubs, who’d ask me what was so funny. And then I'd have to explain it to him.
Mornings need to be started with coffee....not eye-rolls!

Too funny! Cool dream.
And, btw, I have several posts handwritten and will have them posted once they're typed up. I don't know why I put it off so long before forcing myself to write something. I now have the characters figured out a wee bit, and will add them to the tourist list soon. When I thought up career choices for them, I got the giggles and wondered what took so long to create them.

very... interesting... dream, Phalon. just read this whole story because I had some spare time before work. I love it! wow, though, those tourists lasted all of five seconds! can't wait to see your character in the story, Gabrielle. a suggestion...? since you're looking for a close approximation, have you thought of using Shannen Doherty? I know you're a Charmed fan, but this is just an idea I'm throwing at you. feel free to ignore it. I'm wondering if Jonah will make it back, and if he does, what will happen?

Thanks for reminding her, sis. Glad you and Aphrodite liked my post! Thanks for the promotion, Mia. Question: do you prefer "Jox" or "Mia"? Cuz I've seen both.

Post by Mini Mia on Nov 18, 2009 19:28:49 GMT -6
You're welcome for the promotion, GON. I had my thoughts on my Mom's recent illness, and my upcoming trip to the skin doctor, so it never occurred to me to bump you up to Bard. Sorry about that. And ... I come running no matter what I'm called. So, whichever you prefer is fine with me. The old gang know me best as Joxcenia, so that's why they still call me by that handle, and the newbies soon follow suit. It makes no never mind to me. I'm still a Xena/Joxer fan, but the Xena board grew stagnant, so I switched to a non-Xena handle. Nice to see the Xena board come to life again. And glad I didn't delete my old handle. I like getting it out every now and again.

Very nice. And I will think on my tourist and try to get something worked up soon. It may be closer to the end of the week, I'm excited about going to see "New Moon" on Tuesday. I can't wait. I'll probably procrastinate by watching my "Twilight" DVD in preparation for going to see the sequel.

LOVE the banner, Gabrielle. Mia... *sighs* Twilight, seriously? didn't take you for a Twi-Head. that series is ruining werewolves. 'course, that's just my opinion.
