Mia... *sighs* Twilight, seriously? didn't take you for a Twi-Head. that series is ruining werewolves. 'course, that's just my opinion.
They aren't _real_ werewolves ... they're shape-shifters. The fourth book makes that quite clear. Or it did to me.
I'm a fan, but I don't consider myself a Twi-Head. I also love the Sookie Stackhouse books, and True Blood. I also love the movie Lost Boys.
I don't peg myself into any certain type categories. I like what I like, and don't like what I don't like. There's room for it all. (Even what I consider to be crap. *cough* Zombies *cough* )

aaaaaah. ok, see i've just seen the previews. and they look like werewolves. but if they're just shapeshifters, then cool. at least they aren't ruining werewolves!

Well, they call themselves werewolves. And they consider themselves werewolves. But they aren't of the Lycan variety. It doesn't seem like you plan on ever reading the books, so:
S * P * O * I * L * E * R * * * S * P * A * C * E
In the past history of the tribe, members learned how to leave their bodies and go into an animal, a wolf being their preference. They and the wolves became friends, and the wolves would allow them to control their bodies when in them. Then one Indian entered another's body and killed his own. So the one Indian had to remain in wolf form. Over time, the two (Indian & wolf) became one, and he was able to switch from animal to human form, and back again. Which started their shape-shifting abilities. (It's been a while since I've read the books, but I'm fairly sure I got most of it right. I'm planning on reading them again, and if I do, I'll give more detail.)
So. They are shape-shifter werewolves. Not the full moon type.

Now that I think about it ... I think it was book 3 that dealt with how the La Push "werewolves" came about.

I thought Twilight fans were called "Twi-Hards," not "Twi-Heads." Of course, I'm not one, so I'm not really sure. I've heard mixed stuff about the Twilight series. People either love it, or hate it. Doesn't seem to be any real middle-ground. That's just what I think, though. I can't knock what other people like, though, because I'm a Trekkie, a Xenite, and I love Battlestar Galatica and the Harry Potter books. Not to mention Star Wars and... etc. So... yeah. I really have no room to bad-mouth what other people like. Kinda interesting how this comments from readers thread turned into a history lesson about Twilight werewolves.

Personally, I don't get the knocking. Just because someone doesn't like something, doesn't mean that others who do like it are stupid. Viva Le Difference!

Joxie!!!! OMG, LMAO. I just got back from the college campus bookstore here, and browsing the shelves, I nearly burst into laughter. Given our past conversations about Jane Austen, I couldn't help but think of you when I ran across this....
"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" coauthored by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame Smith. I'm not making this up; it made the NY Best Seller list.
Grabbing a pen and paper (the back of a month old grocery list) from my purse, I scribbled down a bit of the back jacket description as the sales clerk asked, "Can I help you?" "No", <snicker, snicker>, "I'm just browsing."
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.
So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem...
....Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read."
So there ya go....take a dive into classic Jane....uhm, sort of.
Oh, and I feel for ya there. Had a bunch of stuff jumbled in my head last week for the Scrolls and other things I wanted to write. Focus, focus, focus....I just couldn't do it with so much floating around in there. Just a little inadvertent push from another member (soon to be released post coming to a Scrolls near you, I'm sure), and dang, that's all it took.
Are you listening Gabrielle and Jon? Joxie's procrastinating again. Get out the cattle prod.

Yeppers, Phalon. And there's another one with sea monsters too. Unfortunately, those kinds of stories don't interest me.
And I happen to know how to use a cattle prod. A neighbor had one. (He raised cattle and hogs ... as well as crops.) Jon & Gabrielle may not even know what one is.

*Gets out the cattle prod* I do too know what one is! And I used to help out on a farm, so I even know how to use one. *Rubs hands together* Don't make me use it, Jox!
