BOLL! Polite yes, very....but I'm sure you knew you wouldn't get an answer out of me. At least I didn't attempt to confuse you in the process of telling you I haven't the foggiest idea of what you're asking. Yeah I didn't hold out much hope but ya know me, ever the gentleman. Thanks for the Coke. I know you're getting ready to eat, and I've got to get to bed now, so I will bid you the fondest adieu. Don't be such a stranger, eh? It shall be awaiting your return in a bucket of ice. Sweet dreams, catch you later ..... no make that sooner.

Thanks Jox, some very useful links there, and yeah, I'll be careful what I download, probably take forever before I decide to take the plunge and try one, I'm a bit paranoid about downloading stuff.

You're very welcome. And it's even dangerous to download from those you trust. New viruses are created every day, and those who stay on top of it can miss some every now and again.

Madam P has safely returned, but for reasons unknown she can't seem to post anything. We'll have to fill in for her while she suffers pixel laryngitis.

Kat is having the same problem. He & Phalon both are using IE. I'm using Firefox. I'm wondering if it's a browser thing.

Okay. I opened an IE browser, and I didn't have any problems getting onto the forum or the boards/threads. It must be something though, because two members are having the same problem. And these two members are as far away as one can get, so it isn't a local internet thing.
Sorry, guys, I don't know anything else to tell you to do than I already have. Q has been having similar problems on her forum. The only thing left to do if my suggestions don't work, is to get help from the Support Forum. I've been searching, but I haven't found any helpful threads yet.

IE here and I haven't had a problem. I upgraded to IE8 some time ago - and now I'm wondering if the problem is related to running an older version of IE. In any case, I gave a couple of other suggestions to Phalon but can only hope they'll help somehow since I'm not a server guru. When I was still on IE7 and had problems one of the things that seemed to actually help was to put the whoosh web site in the trusted site listing. Oddly enough, once I got signed on a couple of times, putting security back to normal didn't cause problems with the connections.

Phalon joined the support forum and they think it's something in the header/footer code. I too opened an IE window and surfed the forum without any problems. I'm hoping to have it figured out soon. I know only a little bit of html, and I rarely mess with any of the codes. The last time I did anything to the headers/footers was July 12, so I'm at a loss as to why there's a problem all of a sudden.

I'll look in my html books and see if I can find a comparable problem/situation. Not holding my breath over it, but I'll look. Unfortunately, the sleep monster is attacking.

If you find where the problem is I'd be more than happy to know what it is so I can correct it. I've sent word to Le, she created the original code, so perhaps she'll find the problem whenever she gets online and reads my plea of help. I do as little changing of the code as I possibly can. Mostly I add/delete links. I can do that fairly well without screwing it up, but maybe I somehow messed with her code and havoc ensued.

I think Le has fixed it. So hopefully both Phalon and Kat will have posts on here when I log on tomorrow ... er ... today. And if anyone else has been kept away, maybe they'll try again and find they can now access the forum.

Hi! I'm in! Sort of. We'll see if I can actually post in a minute.
Thanks all, for your help. This is how it's working now, Joxie: Whatever Le did, it enabled me to see the main page of the board. I still get the "operation aborted" pop up whenever I click on a forum or thread. I did discover a way in though. When I "x" out of the pop up, and it takes me to the white page that says "Internet Explorer is experiencing problems with the site" (I just made up the wording on that, but you know what I mean), then if I hit the back arrow thing on the top left, it'll take me to whatever it is I wanted to look at.
This, btw, is the only site I'm having problems with. I'd gladly upgrade to IE8; I'm currently running IE7.something. But I tried LX's laptop which runs IE8, and I get the same responses. The laptop at work is on Explorer Vista and that works fine....though I'm not able to read or post from work. I haven't tried Hubs' laptop yet - he's on Vista too - but he hasn't brought it home from work this week, and I keep forgetting to remind him. I'd like to check that out - maybe it's a localized thing, certain IPs maybe?
Anyway...that's about it now. Hot and humid here. Blah. I'm tired, and ready for sleep.
Oh - one more weird thing....when I try to get in here, I've got two tabs open. The one I'm working in is that second tab. The first is the one that I first opened when I got the "operation aborted" message; it continues to say "connecting". I just think it's strange it popped me into a second tab all by itself.

I just reread what I wrote, and I'm not sure if it's understandable to anyone but me (just in case someone actually needs to understand it).
I still get the "operation aborted" pop-up message with every forum here, and every thread I open, each and every time, and have to page back every time, not just the first time. Just thought I'd mention that in case it helps if you're still trying to figure out why.

Le replaced the ending code I deleted, and we thought that would fix it, so we're at a loss as to what else could be causing the problem. Well, I'm at a total loss. I have faith that Le will get it figured out.
Ending code = or or etc. Anything with a / in it. Since the code wouldn't close, it played havoc.

At least you can get on now, even if it is slow going and a huge pain in the derriere. Lets all hold hands and give Le as much positive vibes/karma as possible so she is able to figure this all out.

That's not so weird for IE. IE sucks, which is why I only use it for testing purposes.
I need sleep now, but I'll try again tomorrow.

Yep, that's one small step for mankind. I'm sending all the karma I can muster, lot's of luck Le, get a good nights sleep, you have a big day ahead. Guess I'll log off now, sure hope I can get back on again. Bye all, I'll be back ................... I hope.

OMG!!!! What'd you all do?!
When I signed in this morning, it was still the same "operation aborted" - x-out - back-arrow procedure with every entry I did. Made a few posts which took forever, ran out of time, took a shower, dressed, drank coffee, took the dog out, made my lunch, and came back, still logged in.
Now it works perfectly! Yay and thank you to whoever fixed it.

It sure wasn't me. Of course it was Le. She deserves an appreciation thread, don't ya think? Otherwise I was gonna take out all the code and we'd be stuck with an ugly board. Of course everyone would be able to post, but who'd wanna hang out on an ugly board?

Plain text does detract from the fun. Maybe we should get her a cup cake? Virtual of course – zero calories. With flickering candles to symbolize how she lights up the boards?
