Whoops may have spoken to soon, went a bit wonky there for a minute, seems to be working again now though ....... fingers crossed. It sure wasn't me. Of course it was Le. She deserves an appreciation thread, don't ya think? Otherwise I was gonna take out all the code and we'd be stuck with an ugly board. Of course everyone would be able to post, but who'd wanna hang out on an ugly board?
Sure does Jox, heck I may just go start it myself.

Sorry I missed you, Stepper. In the midst of preparing my Mitten Proposal, I had to stop, listen to LX sob on the phone, pick her up, and then file a police report for her stolen bike. It's Blueberry Fest Weekend here; the town is packed. Normally she and her friends park their bikes behind the movie theater, leaving them unlocked, but because there are so many people here this weekend, they locked them in the bike rack at the gazebo. The chain was cut - she found it in a trash can. Poor kid - she loved that bike, a shiny silver and black Schwinn. I don't hold out much hope it'll be found, but the police man who took the report said it's amazing how many bikes are taken by out-of-towners who need a ride while they're here. He said they recovered about twenty in the past month, usually after the weekends are over.

When I was young I had a paper route and mom got me a bicycle for Christmas. I'd had it only a few months when it was stolen from my back yard - and it was never replaced. Even with homeowners insurance, there just wasn't quite enough spare change around. I know it doesn't help, but I know how LX feels. Good luck with the cops finding and returning it - really.

Thanks, Stepper. I know there's not a good chance it'll be found, but it does happen occasionally. I had my bike stolen too when I was a kid - a shiny new red 10-speed; the first new bike I'd had in ages because I always got the ones my cousin outgrew. It was taken right out of the driveway of my friend's house - not the place you'd think someone would think to take a bike because her house sat pretty far from the road, up on top of a hill. The police called months later, saying they'd found it - it was missing a tire, and the rim of the back one was bent, but I got it back. Sorry you weren't so lucky as I back then.
I have my doubts LX will be that lucky either...just in case I called the bike shop to give them a description should someone try to sell it there. And drat - I didn't even get to talk to cute bike shop guy.
Me, an Invisible, and 8 guests. Hello, all.

Oops! I've been meaning to get back to that too!
Was rambling, writing another post I've been meaning to get to, and noticed while I was rambling Stepper's been posting all over the place.
Just dropping off a "Hi, Stepper" in here before I get to bed. Early day tomorrow - it's roller coaster day! Off to the amusement park for LX birthday. I have a feeling though, after spending the day with four teenagers - two girls and two boys, I shall not be so amused.

If you were one of the teenagers you'd be amused! Have fun tomorrow!

Three viewing, but I had just signed on and it didn't show anyone else. That almost always means FBM is here keeping things safe.

Thankfully, things have been pretty quiet around here for a very long time. Which I'm glad of. It makes my safe-keeping so much easier.

Nite Phalon..and yes you were too invisible. Not there! I always look to see who's on line when I sign on and you weren't there. Unless you've been signed on a couple hours and not posted and FBM added logic to blank you out when you aren't posting - then you were in inviz mode. [ ] See? Here's the picture I took and there's nothing there! Proof if ever there was any!

Hhmmmm....yep, that must be it. Whatever you said. I'm sure of it.
Actually, I'm not sure of anything, except it's bedtime.
I said that already, didn't I?
Now, I'm really leaving. I will not be invisible, so don't even look, cuz you won't see me.

Night, Phalon. I think if you stop to write a long post, and it takes more than 5 minutes, your name goes off the "Users Online" list. I think the limit is 5 minutes. It could be more ... or even less.

Hey Stepper. It's cooler than it has been, but it's still hot. Other than that it was a pretty good day. Thanks. Hope you and everyone else had a wonderful day as well.

Still sort of hot here and overly dry again. We had almost no rain in August. It's still in the 80s when we get up in the mornings and mid 90s by late afternoon. But, some of the trees are browning out and dropping leaves - I'm not sure what kind of tree it is but they do it every year. They're always the first ones to drop their leaves.
