Here was an interesting question posed to me recently by a fellow movie lover, "What movie would you like to live in?" My answers: "Casablanca", "True Grit", "The Quiet Man", and "The Empire Strikes Back". Which ones would you pick?
Fascinating question, and great selections from yourself, have to think on it for a while but will get back to you ASAP.
This is going to have me debating with myself for a while I reckon.
How about starting a thread on that theme, Siren. I'm sure every movie-lover will have some interesting choices.
Not a bad idea, MG.

Yep, real good idea, already posted mine on the other thread but I'll stick them here as well to kick this one off.
"Jurassic Park" a tad dangerous but how amazing would it be to interact with such amazing creatures, at least until one bit your head off or stood on you.
"Gorillas in the Mist" for much the same reasons, fantastic animals.
"Robin Hood" the Errol Flynn version of course, lots of swash buckling fun to be had there.
"Close Encounters of the Third Kind" how awe inspiring would that be?

Katina said, '"Jurassic Park" a tad dangerous but how amazing would it be to interact with such amazing creatures, at least until one bit your head off or stood on you." LOL!!
Great choices, kat. I especially like the thought of sharing a leafy glade with Errol Flynn. There was bound to be room in his gang for a Merry Maid. If not, I'd hang around the Sherwood Forest road, hoping he'd hijack my carriage. *wiggling eyebrows*
I've thought more about this question, and would also like to include...
"Desk Set" - I'd love to work with those bright, funny people - Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, and Joan Blondell.
"Stage Door" - waiting for my big Broadway break while living in that theatrical boarding house with Eve Arden, Ginger Rogers, Katharine Hepburn, Lucille Ball, et al.
"Summer Stock" - would be so much fun to be out on the farm, rehearsing the big show. Maybe I could steal Gene Kelly away from Judy Garland for just one dance. And maybe I'd get brave enough to kiss that little scar on his cheek.
Oh, and one more - "Only Angels Have Wings": I'd love to be in exotic South America, sharing the camaraderie among those pilots, flying by the seat of my pants in those old prop planes, and giving Jean Arthur a run for her money for Cary Grant.
Yes, please, MG - you, and all, please share your choices, too.

I'm sure others will come to mind over time, but my first thought was: Romancing The Stone. I just got it on DVD, and the last book I read has that feel to it, so it's fresh on my mind right now.

I've had a little think about this and I came up with two films.
'Reach For The Sky'. Sir Douglas Bader, surely one of the most enigmatic and courageous figures in British history. I can't help but feel sorry for all those young pilots struggling to keep up with a man with no legs. A true hero!
'Lord Of The Rings'. The first real 'epic' book I read as a child. I've waited so long for a film-maker to come along and do the story justice. Hat's off to Peter Jackson.
