Sadly, I don't get some of the humor of other countries as well. I think you have to live there to get the 'in' jokes. And double sadly, we've lost a lot of members since those threads linked above were made.

Alot of jokes involve a play on words - if you don't understand the local lingo the twist on wording might not make much sense. I have to do a bit of digging every once in a while to get what Kat is really saying.

A friend pointed out that this was up here with the easy links and I want to thank Jox for doing it. I've made my way through the first link and what a time capsule! It's like a daily diary. Fun, fun times. I have the reference points to make sense of it all but without the avatars or personal photos or whatever that is called, a lot of it's lost on anyone who wasn't there. Ahh, the Sticks. Classic art. And the struggle to understand the chat feature and IMs and everything that came with Whoosh, for us tech newbies... hilarious.
I can't believe that was so long ago! When did we all get so clever? My, how the puns and fun language skills have escaped me over the years. Man, oh man, great stuff!

You very welcome, Lola. I have some of the sticks, and the mugs here:

I think Gabby and Xena on Argo was my favorite of Gaggie's renderings. Weren't they good? Gaggie was, and is, a very talented and creative person. One of the brightest people I think I've ever met.
Oh, golly, Mia - thank you so much for reviving those old posts. I can remember the many laughs they brought me, back in the day. And now I think of the friendships they brought me, too.

You're very welcome, Siren. The Hag was my favorite.
