Of everything you've seen on Xena: Warrior Princess, what do you believe is the worst of the show?

The whole Eve/Livia story arc, I could have lived without. In my 'required viewing' I eliminate it entirely.

I hated the entire rift arc and still think it marked the down turn for the show. The Bitter Suite had a couple of good songs, but the rift was ill conceived and even worse, poorly concluded. Hope killed Solan, then Xena tryies to kill Gabby, and we'll make it all better with a sing along? Puh leese!

Actually, I have a second answer to this, but it's a character problem. They over used Joxer having him play the Three Stooges combined into one character, but without sympathetic appeal. I think they should have had more of Salmoneus to offset so much Joxer. I didn't completely dislike Joxer, but I would have been happier with less of the Joxer nonsense. Joxer while under Aphrodite's spell was more interesting, and in the end they gave him more personality, but by then it was too late - people either loved or hated him.

I agree, Stepper, (welcome to Whoosh, btw). I'm not one who enjoys slap-stick, and some of Joxer's was over-the-top, in my opinion.
I did like him however, and thought some of his bumbling provided a bit of comic relief to some of the heavier episodes. A little Joxer goes a long way though. Too much was just hard for me to watch. The "Joxer-centric" episodes are some of my least favorites.
But he was sweet; he was a good guy who deserved a better ending, I think. It's been years since I've seen it, but I've always thought the episode in which he was killed didn't do the character justice - his death wasn't shown the emotion from Xena and Gabs that I would have thought they'd display.

Oh, and speaking of slap-stick....
The worst episode, in my opinion is "Married With Fishsticks".

As with naming my "best or favorite" episode, it would be impossible to name my least favorite. So I'll name three:
Married With Fishsticks (hated the plot, hated the kids, hated Joxer in this one) Ulysses (what a dork--ties almost with Nerdicus) Life Blood (could Karl Urban have acted any goofier)
OK, one more:
Chariots of War (hated the blue dress on Xena)
Basically I didn't like any of Xena's "beaus" except Marcus.

Hi Phalon! Sorry it's taken so long to reply. Who knew that aging meant less time for the good things? Anyway, I remember Married with Fishsticks. I didn't totally dislike it, but I believe it wasn't all that well received when it first aired. Quite a few people agreed with your assessment. I agree with you about Joxer’s demise. I think it was a sad moment that didn’t get sufficient attention from the writers. Like him on not, Joxer didn’t waiver in loyalty to Xena and Gabby and his death should have meant more, been more, than the passing of a recurring character.

PS Phalon: You have excellent taste in vidcap choices.
