I got the info from IMDb Xena Forum.
And that is just too too funny. In last night's dream, Lucy & Rob invited me to watch the movie being filmed. I was introduced to Kevin Smith's brother, (does he have one?), and one of Kevin's sons. The brother looked almost identical to Kevin, enough to play Ares in the movie. I even got to go to the movie's premiere when it came out.
Gee, and now my hopes are crushed.

You travel in pretty good company in your dreams, Jox! I think I'd like to go along next time. I have to say I'm glad it's finally settled and I don't have to make a decision about seeing it. I was always torn. My mind-set is...if the original actors/actresses cannot play the part, then that character shouldn't be in the movie. I don't want to see anyone else playing Ares or Callisto or Joxer...and certainly not Xena or Gabs. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I read this post last night, Jox, and I watched the little video clip for the Trilogy. I haven't watched any eps since Mary died and I wondered if I ever could again. I had to stop the clip from the last ep--couldn't handle it. But Mary never did see the final episode. She refused to watch it. Anyway, I watched Lyre, Lyre... and then I watched the first ep in the Trilogy. It was good. It wasn't like watching it with Mary, but it was OK. So, thanks for the posting about the movie. It helped me over a very small bump in the road that I kept side-stepping. You know it always the little things.

Crud. (Not what I wanted to say, but the invisible one would have to delete the post if I said what I was really thinking.)

Yes, it does. But I sometimes wonder if a movie/s would be as good after the 25/6 year leap, now that most of the human characters are old or dead. (The TV characters, not the actors.) And I wouldn't be much interested in a 'flashback' movie. I do believe that a movie/s remake will be made one day. And there could even be a new series remake years down the road. But I doubt that a continuation movie/s will ever come to pass.
Unlike some fans, I don't have a problem with a movie/s being made with other actors in the role. This would free TPTB up to start from scratch and revamp the whole series. They could omit the things they didn't like, and that didn't work, and add the things that in hindsight might have made for a better series. That interests me quite a bit. That would be a great idea for a mini-series. A way to redo Xena from beginning to end ... and then have the movies be based off of the mini-series.
A lot of fans didn't like the Livia storyline, so, TPTB could rip out the whole pregnancy thing and the 25/6 year jump. Season 3 was their best, IMHO, so TPTB could keep seasons 1-3 and parts of season 4, and maybe even some of seasons 5-6. Just rework it so that there was no jump in time, etc. I'd be interested in seeing how TPTB could revamp the show. Of course, if they chose the wrong actors to replace the great ones they had, then I wouldn't be too happy. But if they found actors who were up to the old cast's standards, then I'd be all for it.

yeah i'd seen that article. kinda sucks huh? If you got all the Hoovers ever made, and turned them all on at the same time, it still wouldn't suck as much.

OTOH, think I might rather see no movie at all than a bad one that wasn't true to the characters of Xena and Gabrielle. Thats what I am afraid could happen, been some rumors it could go that way.
