Lola and I are both HUGE Alison fans, Scrappy. I saw her in concert twice last year, and she was sooooo wonderful! No pyrotechnics, no light show - just breathtaking music, and wry, sometimes goofy humor. Leaving her shows, it's like you've had a dose of medicine, you feel so good.
*back after break* I had to go put some Alison on, Scrap. Right now, it's "Heartstrings". For anyone who's ever been homesick, what a killer song!
And Sugarland? Well, Lola, you know how I feel about them. Still my favorite album. And strong rumor has it they'll come here as part of 2 different tours this year. Bliss!
Back to the game...
Well, the straight-haired girls They all want CURLS And the BRUNETTEs wanna be blonde It's your typical thing You got ying, you want yang It just goes on and on

Now, see, if you turkeys listened to Country music, you'd have had all sorts of answers for "brunette". The Judds: Have Mercy...Wade Hayes: I'm Still Dancing With You...SheDaisy: Don't Worry 'Bout A Thing...and George Jones: The One I Loved Back Then, to name a few.
Pet? Hmmmm....

Stupify by Disturbed came to to mind, but no, I can't post those lyrics; not for the eyes of innocents.
And so, one from 3 Doors Down. Ticket to Heaven
"Its a voice's lie, innocents die, And all your dreams, And all your money, they don't mean a thing. When everything is said and done, You won't have one thing left. What happened to everything that I ever known?"
An easy one: voices.
Or a bit harder: voice's.
Take your pick.

I'm gonna pick voice just to see if I can make Madam P cringe this morning....
One Voice by Barry Manilow
Just One Voice, Singing in the darkness, All it takes is One Voice, Singing so they hear what's on your mind, And when you look around you'll find There's more than
One Voice, Singing in the darkness, Joining with your One Voice, Each and every note another octave, Hands are joined and fears unlocked, If only One Voice would start it on its own,
We need just One Voice facing the unknown, And then that One Voice would never be alone It takes that One Voice. Would never be alone It takes that One Voice.
Just One Voice Singing in the darkness, All it takes is One Voice, Shout it out and let it ring. Just One Voice, It takes that One Voice, And everyone will sing!
Ok...no laughing....I had a huge crush on him when I was like...six. He had an album....yes I am old enough to remember those.....with six beagle puppies on the front. How can you not like a guy with all those dogs! lol

Scrappy, you're in good company. On one of those daytime talk shows, Jenny McCarthy revealed a huge crush on Manilow. Shortly thereafter, he came out onstage, and she nearly fainted. But she siezed the moment, and his face, and laid one on him!
Not an exact match, but we seem to be stuck. So, here's as close as I could get:
Daddy sang bass Mama sang tenor Me and little brother would JOIN right in there Singing seems to help a TROUBLED soul One of these days, and it won't be long I'll rejoin them in a song I'm gonna join the family circle at the throne

Tank is full, switch is on Night is warm, cops are gone Rocket bike is all her own It's called a Hurricane
She told me once, it's quite a ride It's shaped so there's this place inside Where if you're moving, you can hide Safe within the rain
She wants to run away But there's nowhere that she can go Nowhere the pain won't come again But she can hide Hide in the pouring rain She rides the eye of the Hurricane
Tell the truth, explain to me How you got this need for speed She laughed and said it might just be The next best thing to love
Hope is gone and, she confessed, When you lay your dream to rest You can get what's second best But it's hard to get enough
She wants to run away But there's nowhere that she can go Nowhere the pain won't come again But she can hide Hide in the pouring rain She rides the eye of the Hurricane
We saw her ride so fast last night Racing by, a flash of light Riding quick, the street was dark A shining truck she thought was parked It blocked her path, stopped her heart But not the Hurricane
She saw her chance to slip the TRAP There was just the room to pass in back But then it moved, closed the GAP She never felt the pain
She wants to run away But there's nowhere that she can go Nowhere the pain won't come again But she can hide Hide in the pouring rain She rides the eye of the Hurricane
She rides the eye of the Hurricane

I loved a few songs off John Mayer's first cd (what sort of nerd puts the elemental chart on a cd? I love nerds!), but not a big fan of his second. I'll have to check out that song, though. And Siren, I went through those entire lyrics and sang the song as I did. *sigh*
"Born to Run" da Boss...
It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap We gotta get out while we're young `Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run

Lola, how could you? Stuck my head in the door here this morning, drinking my first cup of coffee, and was immediately sorry. Then, six cups of coffee later, I tried to pawn off the song that got stuck in my head when I read the word "tramps" off on my friend. Nothing doing - because he sang the entire song for me in the coffee shop.
Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves by Cher.
"Gypsies, tramps and thieves. We'd hear it from the people of the town, They'd call us gypsies, tramps and thieves. But every night all the men would come around, And lay their money down."

I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes but I have one...
Well Ali Baba had them forty thieves Scheherezade had a thousand tales But master you in luck 'cause up your sleeves You got a brand of magic never fails You got some power in your corner now Some heavy ammunition in your camp You got some punch, pizzazz, yahoo and how See all you gotta do is rub that lamp And I'll say
Mister Aladdin, sir What will your pleasure be? Let me take your order Jot it down You ain't never had a friend like me Ha ha ha
'A Friend Like Me'...from Disney's 'Aladdin'
so...if I understand the rules, I pick a word for someone else now? and it's gonna be... ammunition
