Adjusting my goddess-like magnitude in the hopes you'll be able to keep up with me? It won't work. Trust me.

Here's a week attempt to include both songs...in a geographic sort of way. I took liberties initially but the guilt was overwhelming so I corrected. As President Bush once said, "There ought to be limits to freedom."
B-52's "Love Shack"
If you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says 15 miles to the... Love Shack! Love Shack yeah I'm headin' down the Atlanta highway, lookin' for the love getaway Heading for the love getaway, love getaway, I got me a car, it's as big as a whale and we're headin' on down To the Love Shack I got me a Chrysler, it seats about 20 So hurry up and bring your jukebox money

Love that song, Lolie! The part about, "I've got me a Chrysler. It seats about 20," tickles me. The video is great fun, too. Next time you see it, watch for Rupaul in the dancing throng. Whatever happened to uh, her, anyway?
Here's some dreamy stuff...
~~~~~~~~~
Remembering when we first met We had that adventure in our eyes But something got away I guess In the everyday of our lives
And I don't know what Keeps us here Let's disappear And start all over again
We can run away Baby come as you are You can look at my heart As your GETAWAY car We can drive all night It will be alright Love can take us so far In your getaway car
All we need is the open road And more FUEL for the fire inside us Steer us on to lands unknown And we can leave this world behind
And all I know is you and me That's all we'll need to Start all over again
We can run away Baby come as you are You can look at my heart As your getaway car We can drive all night It will be alright Love can take us so far In your getaway car
Turn up the radio Don't look back again Let me put the pedal down Get us out of this town Don't be afraid to run
Oh baby
We can run away Baby come as you are You can look at my heart As your getaway car We can drive all night It will be alright Love can take us so far In your getaway car
Had to look up the full text....Interesting if not stalkerish song.
Daniel Bedingfield - All Your Attention
Don't want you looking at the stars tonight I just want your eyes on me I wanna be the only thing on your mind I'll be all you need
Don't want you talking on the phone, don't go out I just want you here with me Don't want you spending time alone Stay around, I'll be all you need
Can't you see you hold my heart in your hands You own me, you own me I need you to survive I know I'm alive when you hold me Hold me
Don't want to share you with the stars in the night I only want you to only want me Now, then and forever I'm even jealous of the sun in your eyes I want you looking at me, only me I want all your attention
Forgive me if I seem to need you too much You illuminate my soul Don't think that I could breathe without your touch You could never know
When I'm with you I've got nothing to hide You know me, you know me I need you to survive I know I'm alive when you hold me Hold me
Don't want to share you with the stars in the night I only want you to only want me Now, then and forever I'm even jealous of the sun in your eyes I want you looking at me, only me I want all your attention
Can't you see you hold my heart in your hands You own me, you own me I need you to survive I know I'm alive when you hold me Hold me
Don't want to share you with the stars Don't want the moon to touch your heart I only want you to only want me Now, then and forever
I'm even jealous of the sun in your eyes I want you looking at me, only me I want all your attention 1 want you looking at me, only me I want all your attention
Ok cheesy easy....
Scrap!! Thank you for choosing that word; I've waited for for-ev-rrrrrrrrr to post this song. Hmm probably close to the antithesis of the one you just posted. First time I saw this movie, I went right to the Xena scene where Gabrielle (or was it Areola, he and Herc were in this Prometheus ep) told a version of this story. This song encompasses all the gods of all the cultures; pretty cool, I'd say. I hope you read it; sorry for the length.
'Origin of Love' John Cameron Mitchell from 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' soundtrack.
When the earth was still flat, And the clouds made of fire, And mountains stretched up to the sky, Sometimes higher, Folks roamed the earth Like big rolling kegs. They had two sets of arms. They had two sets of legs. They had two faces peering Out of one giant head So they could watch all around them As they talked; while they read. And they never knew nothing of love. It was before the origin of love.
The origin of love
And there were three sexes then, One that looked like two men Glued up back to back, Called the children of the sun. And similar in shape and girth Were the children of the earth. They looked like two girls Rolled up in one. And the children of the moon Were like a fork shoved on a spoon. They were part sun, part earth Part daughter, part son.
The origin of love
Now the gods grew quite scared Of our strength and defiance And Thor said, "I'm gonna kill them all With my hammer, Like I killed the giants." And Zeus said, "No, You better let me Use my lightening, like scissors, Like I cut the legs off the whales And dinosaurs into lizards." Then he grabbed up some bolts And he let out a laugh, Said, "I'll split them right down the middle. Gonna cut them right up in half." And then storm clouds gathered above Into great balls of fire
And then fire shot down From the sky in bolts Like shining blades Of a knife. And it ripped Right through the flesh Of the children of the sun And the moon And the earth. And some Indian god Sewed the wound up into a hole, Pulled it round to our belly To remind us of the price we pay. And Osiris and the gods of the Nile Gathered up a big storm To blow a hurricane, To scatter us away, In a flood of wind and rain, And a sea of tidal waves, To wash us all away, And if we don't behave They'll cut us down again And we'll be hopping round on one foot And looking through one eye.
Last time I saw you We had just split in two. You were looking at me. I was looking at you. You had a way so familiar, But I could not recognize, Cause you had blood on your face; I had blood in my eyes. But I could swear by your expression That the pain down in your soul Was the same as the one down in mine. That's the pain, Cuts a straight line Down through the heart; We called it love. So we wrapped our arms around each other, Trying to shove ourselves back together. We were making love, Making love. It was a cold dark evening, Such a long time ago, When by the mighty hand of Jove, It was the sad story How we became Lonely two-legged creatures, It's the story of The origin of love. That's the origin of love.
Oh but which word to choose for the next, lots of good ones in here... HAMMER
Never heard the song, but cool lyrics, Lola. (And yes, I read the entire way through).
But Argh! This one will be stuck in my head for days. A little game that Hubs has played with LX since she was wee little. "I'd rather be a (fill in the blank), than a (fill in the blank)." They can do this for hours it seems, each verse getting more ridiculous than the next. It of course comes from a song by Simon and Garfunkel - though I'm not actually sure about that.
"I'd rather be a hammer than a nail. Oh, yes I would. If I only could."
What a story that paints, Lola! Man. Loved that part about the bellybutton. I know, all that rich imagery, spectacle and angst, and I fixate on the bellybutton. Sorry! Several "nail" songs come to mind. But how about one by sweet Suzy Bogguss? NAIL and hammer, hammer and nail I need a LIFEBOAT that's set to sail Across this ocean of tears I've cried The time has come to turn the tide Thread and needle, needle and thread I need a sail made of crimson red I wanna be seen from miles away I'm lost at sea and I wanna be saved Blow wind blow and set me free A storm called love made a wreck of me I'm tossed and turned, I'm in the dark All my dreams lie torn apart At the bottom of my deep blue heart Pen and paper, paper and pen I need a bottle to put a message in And I hope it won't sink to the ocean floor I'm still a far cry from the shore Blow wind blow and set me free A storm called love made a wreck of me I'm tossed and turned, I'm in the dark All my dreams lie torn apart At the bottom of my deep blue heart "Hammer and Nail" - Suzy Bogguss next word: lifeboat And speaking of Suzy, I got my hair cut yesterday, very much like Suzy's on this cover: Gaggie, I know you wanted me to leave it long. But I just couldn't stand it any more!!
Gotta love Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd - The Trial
Good morning, Worm your honor. The crown will plainly show The prisoner who now stands before you Was caught red-handed showing feelings Showing feelings of an almost human nature; This will not do. Call the schoolmaster!
I always said he'd come to no good In the end your honor. If they'd let me have my way I could Have flayed him into shape. But my hands were tied, The bleeding hearts and artists Let him get away with murder. Let me hammer him today?
Crazy, Toys in the attic I am crazy, Truly gone fishing. They must have taken my marbles away. Crazy, toys in the attic he is crazy.
You little shit you're in it now, I hope they throw away the key. You should have talked to me more often Than you did, but no! You had to go Your own way, have you broken any Homes up lately? Just five minutes, Worm your honor, Him and Me, alone.
Baaaaaaaaaabe! Come to mother baby, let me hold you In my arms. M'lud I never wanted him to Get in any trouble. Why'd he ever have to leave me? Worm, your honor, let me take him home.
Crazy, Over the rainbow, I am crazy, Bars in the window. There must have been a door there in the wall When I came in. Crazy, over the rainbow, he is crazy.
The evidence before the court is Incontrivertable, there's no need for The jury to retire. In all my years of judging I have never heard before Of someone more deserving Of the full penaltie of law. The way you made them suffer, Your exquisite wife and mother, Fills me with the urge to defecate!
"Hey Judge! Shit on him!" Since, my friend, you have revealed your Deepest fear, I sentence you to be exposed before Your peers. Tear down the wall!
Truly
Heh heh, my chance to go from the sublime (well I guess someone might describe Pink Floyd that way) to the ridiculous.
I love the film Chitty Bang Bang so here goes.
Toot sweets sound like what they are So do lollys in a lollypop jar Gingerbread men have a gingerbread sound, we've found Sugar plum cinnamon and lemon tart tell you what they are right from the start And your name does the same for you By coincidence, Truly Scrumptious You're truly truly scrumptious Scrumptious as a cherry peach parfait When your near us It's so delicious Honest Truly, you're the answer to our wishes Truly Scrumptious Though we may seem presumptuous Never, never, ever go away Our hearts beat so unruly Because we love you truly Honest Truly, we do Truly scrumptious You two are truly scrumptious Scrumptious as the breeze across the bay When you're smiling It's so delicious So beguiling You're the answer to my wishes Truly scrumptious You two are truly scrumptious And I shan't forget this lovely day My heart beats so unruly I also love you truly Honest truly, I do
So heheh, try this word.
Scrumptious ;D
From my all time favorite absolutely fabulous musical....I could see this everday and die happy.....
Stephen Sondheim - Hello Little Girl
Into The Woods
WOLF: Mmmh… Unhh… Look at that flesh, Pink and plump. Hello, little girl… Tender and fresh, Not one lump. Hello, little girl… This one's especially lush, Delicious… Mmmh… Hello, little girl, What's your rush? You're missing all the flowers. The sun won't set for hours, Take your time.
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD: Mother said, "Straight ahead," Not to delay Or be mislead.
W: But slow, little girl, Hark! And hush — The birds are singing sweetly. You'll miss the birds completely. You're traveling so fleetly. Grandmother first, then Miss Plump… What a delectable couple Utter perfection One brittle, one supple — One moment, my dear — !
LRRH: Mother said, "Come what may, Follow the path And never stray."
W: Just so, little girl — Any path. So many worth exploring. Just one would be so boring. And look what you're ignoring… Think of those crisp, Ageing bones, Then something fresh on the palate. Think of that scrumptious carnality Twice in one day — ! There's no possible way To describe how what you feel When you're talking to your meal!
LRRH: Mother said Not to stray. Still, I suppose, A small delay… Granny might like a fresh bouquet… (Spoken) Goodbye, Mr. Wolf
W: Goodbye, little girl. And hello… (Howls)
Ha thought you had us didn't you...pfft....
carnality
Nicely done Siren...thank you. Plus it goves me a chance to throw some.....ewwwww.....ELVIS out there....lol
A Dog’s Life
If I had my life to live over I know just what I’d like to be A pampered pet of a rich brunette Sitting on my mama’s knee Someone to love me Someone to care Rubberduck dubble little fingers through my hair I need a dog’s life What a life, that’s good enough for me That’s good enough for me
If I had a bone to be picking A picking chicken or a steak Curled up there in an easy chair Man, that won’t be hard to take I’ll always be faithful That’s what I’d be Never bite a hand that feeds me, no siree Just lead a dog’s life What a life That’s good enough for me That’s good enough for me
I’d find me a pink little poodle And lose my noodle over her I chase her ’round all over town Just to ruffle up her fur Nuzzle her muzzle A hole in her paw Greatest case of puppy lovin’ you ever saw It’s called a dog’s life What a life That’s good enough for me You heard me say it now That’s good enough for me That’s good enough for me little
Good lord. If that's not a great example of the crap Elvis had to record, and how his talent was wasted, I don't know what is. But Elvis was so good, he made lyrics like those palatable.
Okay...
Give a LITTLE love A squeeze and a little kiss Give a little hug Mmm, I want some more of this Take a little time Yeah, make a little fuss That’s what a woman wants So give a little love
You can be some big hunk Handsome, dark and tall Talk to me in foreign TONGUES Or with a southern drawl Or be a man from old Siam Wear a pointed hat I don’t care how you look ’Cause that ain’t where it’s at
