Sorry I didn't catch your first post, but I've been busy with two sick parents
Joxie, No need to apologize, I know a bit of what you must be going through and my sympathies are certainly with you. I hope things get better for all of you soon.
Thanks. Things are up and down. But for the most part they seem to be slowly working up for the better.
You're very welcome.

Sky Full Of Clover ~ Beth Hart
Why do you carry a pocket of stone? Body and mind are tired of the load Still searching for shelter in your own restless thoughts Believing in anything still you are lost
I will be there just look over your shoulder baby Longing to share a sky full of clover
Come to the grass where the orchids run wild See how they're laughing a land full of smile People in clover are holding up their hands Praising the holy one the wiser of man
I will be there just look over your shoulder baby Longing to share a sky full of clover
I'm not trying to make no contradiction I'm not trying to make you go my way I'm not trying to tell ya what I think ya need to know I'm still trying to figure out my own
Said I'm gonna be there So now you say to me do I still have time to live out these Precious dreams that swell up my mind? Raise me then lay me down and humble my soul Wash me in patience I'll be whiter than snow
I will be there just look over your shoulder baby Longing to share there's a sky full a sky full a sky full of clover
next word: SHOULDER

A lot of Gordon Lightfoot's songs really capture a wintry essence to me (but then, here I am firmly lodged in the deep south-so what do I know about winter?) At any rate, this song seems to be appropriate right now.
Cold On The Shoulder All you need is time All you need is time, time, time to make me bend Give it a try, don't be rude Put it to the test and I'll give it right back to you
It's cold on the shoulder And you know that we get a little older every day
Kick it around, take it to town Try to defy what you feel inside You better be strong Your love belongs to us
It's cold on the shoulder And you know that we get a little older every day
All I need is trust All I need is trust, trust, trust to make it show I don't want to know everything you done If you get a tip then tell it to the Eskimos
It's cold on the shoulder And you know that we get a little older every day It's cold on the shoulder And you know that we get a little older every day
All we need is faith All we need is faith, faith, faith to make it nice Kick it around, don't be rude If you're gonna make a mistake don't you make it twice
It's cold on the shoulder And you know that we get a little older every day

Maeve - my ears are clear, thanks. Clear enough to hear Mighty Quinn echoing in my head; I've been unable to dislodge it since you posted a couple of days ago. And Gasoline - exactly what I was thinking during a morning fly-in, but you beat me to it and chose the word I would have. Get out of my head, Mule, there's barely room for one in here.
A variation of the word "youth", a made-up one, and I gotta love that.
Youthanasia ~ Megadeth
Who'd believe with the way things are here We'd be going anywhere telling people How to live? Who'd believe we'd spend more Shippin' drugs and guns Than to educate our sons? Sorry but That's what they did
I can't help but think, Someone's forsaken you and me
Luck deserted me and the truth Beat out my brains Men rise on stepping stones of their Selves to higher things I've stepped over lots of bodies on my way Thanks for the information don't need no More anything
We are the damned of all the world With sadness in our hearts The wounded of the wars We've been hung out to dry You didn't want us anyway And now we're making up our minds You tell us how to run our lives We run for youthanasia

The version of this song playing in my mind's juke is Johnny Cash, it's marvelous...
Hurt - Trent Reznor
I hurt myself today to see if I still feel I focus on the pain the only thing that's real the needle tears a hole the old familiar sting try to kill it all away but I remember everything what have I become? my sweetest friend everyone I know goes away in the end and you could have it all my EMPIRE of dirt
I will let you down I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of thorns upon my liar's chair full of broken thoughts I cannot repair beneath the stains of time the feelings DISAPPEAR you are someone else I am still right here
what have I become? my sweetest friend everyone I know goes away in the end and you could have it all my empire of dirt
I will let you down I will make you hurt
if I could start again a million miles away I would keep myself I would find a way

So Unsexy by Alanis Morissette
i can feel so unsexy for someone so beautiful so unloved for someone so fine i can feel so boring for someone so interesting so ignorant for someone of sound mind
oh these little protections how they fail to serve me one forgotten phone call and i'm deflated oh these little defenses how they fail to comfort me your hand pulling away and i'm devastated
when will you stop leaving baby? when will i stop deserting baby? when will i start staying with myself?
oh these little projections how they keep springing from me i jump my ship as i take it personally oh these little rejections how they disappear quickly the moment i decide not to abandon me

Oh boy, oh boy! A chance to use a lyric from my brand new favorite sorta redheaded, alt-country, whose music I just discovered Friday singer: Jenny Lewis. I'm pretty excited about her, I've ordered all the Rilo Kiley cds and the Watson Twins' EP, too. Am I sadly out-of-date? Have these folks been popular forever and I've just missed them? I hate when things like jobs, families, bills, cars and stuff like that intrude on my real life.
Melt your heart
Nothing is ever as good as it was. And what's good for your soul will be bad on your nerve (s) if you reverse it.
It's bound to melt your heart, One way or another. It's bound to melt your heart, For good or for bad. It's like a valentine from your mother, It's bound to melt your heart.
And we've lost the people we could've loved, and you, What you know you have, or what you think you want, it's never perfect.
It's bound to melt your heart, One way or another. It's bound to melt your heart, For good or for bad. It's like a valentine from your mother, It's bound to melt your heart.
Are we killing time? Are we killing each other?
When you're kissing someone who's too much like you, It's like kissing on the mirror. When you're sleeping with someone who doesn't get you, You're going to hate yourself in the morning.
It's bound to melt your heart, One way or another. It's bound to melt your heart, For good or for bad. It's like a valentine from your mother, It's bound to melt your heart.
MELT

Dont Leave Home by Dido
like a ghost don't need a key your best friend I've come to be please don't think of getting up for me you don't even need to speak
when I've been here for just one day you'll already miss me when I go away so close the blinds and shut the door you won't need other friends anymore oh don't leave home, oh don't leave home

Chimes of Freedom Bob Dylan
Far between sundowns finish an midnights broken toll We ducked inside the doorway, thunder crashing As majestic bells of bolts struck shadows in the sounds Seeming to be the chimes of freedom flashing Flashing for the warriors whose strength is not to fight Flashing for the refugees on the unarmed road of flight An for each an every underdog soldier in the night An we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth let us sing Power and MAJESTY, praise to the King Mountains bow down and the seas will ROAR At the sound of Your name I sing for joy at the work of Your hands Forever I'll love you, forever I'll stand Nothing compares to the promise I have in you

Standing in the rain with his head hung low Couldn't get a ticket, it was a sold-out show Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream He heard one guitar, just blew him away He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day Bought a beat up six-string, in a second-hand store Didn't know how to play it, but he knew for sure That one guitar felt good in his hands, didn't take long to understand

Hotel California ~Eagles
Mirrors on the ceiling, the pink champagne on ice And she said 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own device' And in the master's chambers, they gathered for the feast They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast Last thing I remember, I was running for the door I had to find the passage back to the place I was before 'Relax' said the nightman, We are programed to receive. Hold On ~ Sarah Mclachlan
Hold on Hold on to yourself for this is gonna hurt like hell.
Hold on Hold on to yourself. You know that only time can tell
what is it in me that refuses to believe this isn't easier than the real thing.
My love you know that you're my best friend. You know that I'd do anything for you and my love let nothing come between us my love for you is strong and true.
Am I in heaven here or am I... At the crossroads I am standing.
So now you're sleeping peaceful I lie awake and pray that you'll be strong tomorrow and will see another day and we will praise it and love the light that brings a smile across your face.
