1000 Mile Journey ~ MudvayneWhats a life steal the claim I took the match and lit the fire; fire. Pain for the pain bad country, built by the kid that was done by the father; the father Now come and walk with me a journey of a thousand miles it starts with one step Plowing out the rows the bleeding of the rose the blood of life which can start tornadoes dont you know Harvesting the souls burying the bones Deep is the hole trouble always call Ive bit the dog and Ive beat the master bastard Eye for an eye to bit bold Lost all control that was done by the mother the mother Now come and walk with me a journey of a thousand miles it starts with one step Plowing out the rows and bleeding of the rose The blood of life which can start tornadoes dont you know Harvesting the souls burying the bones Im not the feeble man arms outstretched in a distant land wonders where it all went wrong hes followed us too long. Another fallen man that failed to make a stand. What have I done wrong? Left her all alone. The voice inside my head, is it me or an alien. Throw me down the stairs since I just dont care anymore. I cant take the wind. I cant fight the storm anymore. I dont have the will I cant beat the storm anymore. a journey of a thousand miles it starts with one step Plowing out the rows and bleeding of the rose The blood of life which can start tornadoes dont you know Harvesting the souls burying the bones The hurricane tires like calm before the storm darkening the shore settling the score The blood of life which can start tornadoes dont you know Harvesting the souls burying the bones You can preview all the songs from this link. Sounds a little dark...but I like them. They're like Disturbed...there's always a message. I think "Scream With Me" is suppose to be about suicide.

I just saw this, TG. Thanks! It's a welcome diversion to the bluck I've been hearing for the last couple of weeks. Every time I get it the car lately it seems LX is with me, and <cringe> she turns on her station - songs like Electroshock, Bad Romance, Starstrukk, You're a Jerk, and you know I can't stand that kind of stuff; I can't believe I even know the titles to write in this post.
If it's not her stuff, it's the old mixes you sent - and I still love them. Not much new stuff though - I can't pick up my alt-metal station here in town, and haven't driven far enough out of its boundries in a while so that the station comes in clear.
This is so funny taking into account what I wrote above. Listening to "Party in my bedroom" just the other day, I said 'how can you listen to this cr@p; it means nothing'. 'Oh yeah, Mom....and 'waiting my whole life for just one..., all I need is just one..., how can you say I don't give a...., I find myself stupified, coming back again' has some deep meaning." (soooooooo glad you sent the edited version of that one) .
But yes, Disturbed always has a message, (as does Godsmack, Mudvayne, and Chevelle). Out of all the "Screamo stuff" I listen to, which she tolerates as much as I tolerate her music - with teeth clenched - she likes these bands enough to know exactly which tracks they are on every CD you sent, and whatever I have playing, she'll immediately flip track to track. (it was much easier when she sat in the back seat and had no control over the radio)
As far as the new Mudvayne goes, I just got a chance to listen to "1000 Mile Journey"; the other tracks will have to wait - BP is watching "Animal Planet" on television right next to me, and it's hard to hear well with the computer volume competing with the television. I've always loved the change in tempo in Mudvayne's songs; from total screamo to the more melodic vocals and back again. Sevendust and to a lesser extent, Chevelle, do the same. On their last CD, it seemed Mudvayne got more mainstream radio friendly, but is now back to 'old school' Mudvayne. I like it a lot. Definitely going to give a listen later, when I don't have to hear 'Animal Planet's Most Extreme Animal Loud Mouths' in the background!

Lol; too funny, sis. I guess we knew these days were bound to arrive. We can always argue that the "messages" that are in our screamo songs are "deeper" and can only be appreciated and realized more once we have experienced life to the extent that sometimes we feel as if we have been used by it as a mop to clean up the floor.... ...or something profound like that. <eye roll> Thank the gods for her innocence of youth and meaningless tunage!

Yes I understand that every life must end, As we sit alone, I know someday we must go, I'm a lucky man to count on both hands The ones I love...
Some folks have just one, Others they got none, Stay with me... Lets just breathe.
Practiced are my sins, Never gonna let me win, Under everything, just another human being, Yeah, I don't wanna hurt, there's so much in this world to make me bleed.
Stay with me... You're all I see.
Did I say that I need you? Did I say that I want you? Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool, you see... No one knows this more than me, As I come clean.
I wonder everyday As I look upon your face, Everything you gave And nothing you would take, Nothing you would take... Everything you gave.
Did I say that I need you? Oh, Did I say that I want you? Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool, you see No one knows this more than me... like I come clean.
Nothing you would take... Everything you gave. Hold me till I die... Meet you on the other side.

Really like the last Pearl Jam that came out in Nov. And I still think Eddie Vedder is one of those hottie lead singers...

Thanks for the links to Kata and Shawna's pages, Jox! Here's another talented Okie, Christian artist Marcy Priest. I know, she looks like very prim in her photos. But she rocks pretty hard. www.myspace.com/marcypriest

Same here, Sis. I rank him right up there with Chris Cornell's oh-so-fine scruffy hotness. The two have a lot in common actually aside from being swoonishly delicious - they've both had their hands in all kinds of projects you'd never expect, even teaming up for one of them.
Remember "Temple of the Dog"? Yep, it was a collaboration between Cornell and Vedder. One of my favorite's from this band is "Hunger Strike" - the song is a duet with both Cornell and Vedder singing. Reportedly Cornell had some vocal problems, and Vedder filled in. Later oh-so-fine Chris stated that oh-so-fine Eddie just instinctively knew how he (Cornell) wanted it to sound.
Here's the smokin' hotties performing Hunger Strike together:
Just a bit of trivia there.
Oh, and I know I've posted this link before, but damn, Cornell just keeps getting hotter with age. Who else could make a long black sweater look sooo good.
Thanks for posting the Motels links, Joxie. Reading the Wikipedia entry for them made me realize it was the "Little Robbers" tape I had and nearly wore out, not the one with "Only the Lonely". "Suddenly Last Summer"....ah, the memories.
