12:00 AM, 23-AUGUST-05 Lawless Wants Reunion Xena: Warrior Princess star Lucy Lawless told SCI FI Wire that she hopes her next film project will reunite some of her old pals from the cast, including Bruce Campbell (Autolycus), Ted Raimi (Joxer) and Renée O'Connor (Gabrielle).
"Josh Becker came up with this really great storyline for a movie that we'd all love to do," Lawless said in an interview. "It's kind of a spoof, because that's the kind of people that we are, but we're all just busy on other projects at the moment." Becker wrote for the Xena series and also scripted Hercules in the Maze of the Minotaur and Alien Apocalypse for TV.
With a working title of Lost in Dino World, Lawless said the film project will be an SF comedy, but it will have no connection to their characters on Xena. "I remember laughing out loud, just howling with laughter, when I was reading the synopsis, and that was a good year ago," Lawless said. The only hold-up at the moment is coordinating all of their schedules.
"I certainly want to work with Bruce and Renée and Ted again," Lawless said. "The point being is that we would love to work together, but these things are harder to coalesce than people might think."
Lawless will next be seen on the Sept. 9 episode of SCI FI Channel's original series Battlestar Galactica. She will also appear in The Darkroom, a film in which she plays the mother of a boy who's haunted by visions of a terrible murder. Lawless describes it as "a cross between a Freddy Krueger movie and Psycho." Lawless is now in New Orleans filming the CBS TV movie Vampire Bats.

QUOTE..."Becker wrote for the Xena series and also scripted Hercules in the Maze of the Minotaur and Alien Apocalypse for TV." I think it might be good for Lucy's career if she avoided working with Becker unless she wants to do a movie like Alien Apocalypse II. ;D

i tend to agree with rick on this one.....the words "scifi comedy" make me nervous--especially when josh b has a hand in it....i tend to like my sf comedy limited to "tripping the rift" or i can even stretch the limits to include "army of darkness" on occasion....but i've got to be honest.....i'de hate to see lucy & renee & ted team up again for the likes of an "alien apocalypse".... just one girl's opinion.....

Hi Joxie, Rsine, Marysgurl... What the heck was "alien apocalypse"? I've never heard of it, and I usually follow the sci-fi flicks. "Army of Darkness" was pretty great..."Tripping the rift"-I find that a little bizarre-though very original... It would be great to see at least some of them back together doing something, since the alleged Xena movie seems dead in the water....

Josh Becker wrote & directed Alien Apocalypse, and Bruce Campbell & Reneé O'Connor starred in it. Personally, I thought the thing was horrible. I taped it for my cousin who doesn't have cable/satellite, and he loved it. He's a hard-core sci-fi nut though.

I didn't mind Josh on Xena but in light of the AA bomb I don't know now! I suppose with Rob being involved and some others it might work. But don't let Josh be in charge.
