Army Wives' top lieutenant has been discharged. Sources confirm to me exclusively that the creator of Lifetime's top-rated drama ever, Katherine Fugate, has been shown the door.

There's some slack on the Army Wives IMDb forum, and fans of Katherine's are dropping the show in support of her. This is what I had to say:
I plan on waiting to see how it goes. I don't want to turn my back on the show if Katherine did indeed leave of her own free will and wasn't "shown the door." And I doubt Katherine would want the show's cast and crew to get caught in the cross-hairs of fans who have her back. The show's continued success will be a crown to Katherine's resume even though she is no longer a part of it. If fans bring the show down, who would want to hire her for other projects? It could do more harm for her than good. Or not, who knows.
Still, I will continue to watch for as long as the show holds my interest. If it goes downhill without Katherine's influence, I'll stop viewing it then, and only then.

This thread on Katherine's forum has a suggestion:
Army Wives: What you can do
But I will still wait to see what Katherine has to say and follow her lead. I don't want to do anything to embarrass her or give the impression that her fan base is rabid. Everyone else can do as you think best.
