I'm not sure the best place to post this, but I'm sure Jox can redirect me. (As if she doesn't have enough to do what with the fire n' all. ) So.. living in So. Cal I have a pretty good commute, thusly I have come to know the audio book and podcast, my drive time companions. One in particular I would like to highlight here The Secret World Chronicle(I was going to try and explain plot & characters but it's probably best if you follow the link to the website itself. ) As I understand it The Secret World Chronicle is a reading of the first draft of a book by Mercedes Lackey and Steven Libbey. So it's not quite a pod cast, and not quote an audio book so the term 'podiobook' has been associated with it. The chapters are released in installments, hence the 'podcast' element to it. The updating isn't on a regular schedule as the authors are working on other projects, but it's still worth a listen. I found this story so engaging and fun that I couldn't wait to listen during drive time. I ended up devouring it while I was at home. The process would've been even faster if I had access at work. It's been a while since something inspired me to create a bit of original character fan fiction. (*waves apologetically at Sumire*) The Secret World Chronicles has me speaking with a bad Russian accent and itching to start some character profiles. ;D Did I mention it was by Mercedes Lackey? PS. Do you think a "Podcasts (and Drive Time audio) of Note" would be a good thread to start here? If so I could start one, I just don't know where. Hehehe.
