Because it was too big to fit my scanner, I had to scan pieces of it at a time and then stitch them together with my computer. Unfortunately, you can tell were they've been pasted but it beats going someplace and shelling out gobs of money having them put on CDs to download onto my computer plus my lazy butt dosen't have to get dressed to leave the apartment.

Ya know. I kinda like this inverted color version. It looks trippy.

Thanks. I wanted to draw a sexy Hudson portrait plus she's got the sexiest eyes too. ;D

You're right, the inverted one is kinda trippy. It's kinda cool, though. The portrait is beautiful, and I think you did a good job pasting it together. If you crop that bottom line out of the picture before pasting it, then it would be perfect.

How do I crop those lines out? Anyway, there are some things I need to fix on the drawing so I'm planning on rescanning it anyway.

It depends on what you use. If you use Paint, you can click and drag one of the tiny blue squares around the edge ~or~ you can choose "Image » Attributes" from the menu and change it that way.

Another problem I'm having is that the size dimensions for some reason don't stay constant. I don't understand this but some portions are either a little too big or a little too small and I can't adjust the size of the seperate portions I'm scanning to match correctly. This dosen't make sence since I'm scanning the exact same size portions. Here is another one I scanned in portions. You can see my problem about not getting any of the pieces to match.

I know how to crop edges off a picture but I don't know how to crop lines inside the pic.

At anyrate, I like this version better than the CD version in which the colors are way to bright.

It could be that you're scanning some at a slight angle, so slight that you don't notice until you try to piece them together. You need to crop the pieces before you paste them together, not after. Your Xena portrait is wonderful!

Hows this? Just trying to get the pieces to match was a royal pain in my backside.

And they still don't match one hundred percent still.

You're almost there. The left looks great, just need to crop a little more out of the top right corner before pasting, or grab pieces out of a different scan to cover up the lines. You could always touch it up a little after pasting too, if that helps. It's all pretty much a matter of improvising as you go, and you'll be great at it in no time.

There is software out there that will help stitch images together, but I don't know which ones are best.

That's true. Some will even give the edges a gradient type of opacity, so it doesn't leave the lines.
I've never tried that with the Gimp, but I bet that would work.

Unfortunately, I'm really tired of mucking around with it. Hey Le. Were did you get that Callisto drawing in your siggy? Did you draw that yourself and if so, will you post a full version so we can see it?

Here is the Hudson one again. I think I've got out all the pasting lines this time and I also went through and fixed the bangs in her hair a little.

Yep, Rick, I drew that a few years ago with a #2 pencil on sketch paper. After running across it the other day, I decided to scan it. The reason the background looks so dark is because the drawing was so light that I had to darken the scan just to make it show up. You did a great job pasting that last full view together. I can't even see the seams. Thanks for posting the links, Jox.

Thanks Le. The Claire portrait I drew a while back ago I did with a #2 pencil on a sheet of typing paper so when I scanned it, I had to darkened it too. Right now I'm redoing it in color.
