Actually I'm planning on putting it on shirts but I need to rescan a bigger version. This one is too small. Unfortunatley there are thousands of new shops opening up every day so mine never gets noticed.
Thanks for the link. I've always wanted to learn to do animation. I used to draw little animation flip books when I was young. I got the illusion of animation quit well concidering I was only five or six at the time.
I'm a bit relunctant to pay to download those lessons over the internet because my dial up is too slow. I'm not sure if they would load properly.
Are there any CDs that I can buy and download onto my computer that teach how to do animation on the computer?
When I talk about animation, I'm talking about real cartoon type animation. Not computer smilies or anything of that nature.
Basically I want to do on the computer what I used to do with those old flip book drawings I made.

A member of this board, Rsine, who may be able to help would be Trix, though I haven't seen her around in quite a while.
I've seen some of her animation; not cartoony, but really top-notch stuff. Animated panels as well as quite a few of the Zena Scrolls baners, (along with Bhen Ruhda who did mine...though I think most of Trix's have disappeared.) It's been forever since I've peeked my head in the door of her web-site, but I'm sure I can dig up the address for it somewhere in this vast wasteland that is my desk. Or Joxie may have it, I believe.

Catch, Rsine. I haven't thrown anything your way in quite awhile, and I've no fresh mud handy. (click on the thing for instructions on what to do with it) Oops, and dang, I hope that spinning orb doesn't bother your motion sickness. A whole new meaning to the phrase "Pumpkin Toss".

And what about me and my art? Nobody is asking me for my expertise. Sheesh. I am feeling a bit motion stickness now.

Hey Gabbin... Reneé has sold her Xena art on ebay for charity, so why can't you?

My stick figures went into a private collection. Getty or some such name.
I am working on a commemorative idea, though.
That is some pretty strong drawing-lines in the picture there, Rsine.

There, there, Gabbin. (pats hand gently) Love your Sticks; 'Gams' is wistfully staring back at me now as I type; hair flowing in the breeze; waves crashing about her stick feet; serene look on her stick face. Oh, what beauty in stick-form. You know I cherish it.

Pant, pant, breath........
Thank you, my panic attack has passed. Every now and then I feel anxiety that my stick drawings were just not good enough and not appreciated enough. They took me a good 5 minutes of my life to complete. Sigh, my life's work. I should have a retrospective.

Well Gabbin... if I hadn't of liked your sticks I would never have suggested that you put them on things to sell... and I never would have bought a set of mugs... they are good.

Love the cartoon, Rick. I agree with Jox that it would look good on a shirt. ;D Animating on a computer really isn't any different than making those flip animations, except animating on a computer is actually much easier because you can copy and paste parts that are the same in each frame. Animations can be made with the Gimp. You use the different layers for frames, set the rate of each frame (how long each frame will appear before moving on to the next frame) and save it with the .gif format, making sure to check the box next to where it says "Save as Animation". If you give it a shot, I can walk you though the details while you're doing it.

Thanks. I'm working on putting it on shirts. If you don't mind, I'd like to have you walk me through installing this animation Gimp program. I've always wanted to learn to do animation but right now I'm just too tired. Perhaps we can work out some kind of chat at a later date.

Remember, I'm an idiot with computers. I still can't figure out how to get my scanner to work.

I'll be happy to walk you through installing the Gimp, as well as making the animation. I'm about to go to bed right now, but will type up a post on how to install the Gimp when I get a chance, and we can set up a chat time after I make that post. The animating itself would have to be a different chat, because you will have to learn how to use layers first, which I can also help you with. Then, after you get all your frames made up, I can walk you through the final phases. As for the scanner, it could just be a faulty scanner. Do you know anyone who knows more about computers and can come to your place to try and get it working?

Maybe it's a faulty printer then.
