That's as good an explanation as any other. Except that <hypocondriac> infers my system had a case of sniffles in the head only, which may be true depending on how you explain an initial cold boot that failed, but refresh sounds so much better.

My latest creative(?) endeavor: I got a bug when I redid that end table and lamp for LX's apartment, and since have turned an old dresser into a shelving unit, refurnished a kitchen table, a 1920s vanity - all for LX, and all free except for the vanity which I picked up at Good Will for nearly nothing.
Sunday, I constructed a...thing....a coat rack/hat rack/purse and scarf rack. A towel rack? Some kind of rack out of kitchen drawer fronts from a 1920s Arts and Craft house: a friend gave me all the drawers out of his kitchen when he remodeled it recently. Texted photos of the "thing" to the woman who owns a boutique downtown that sells "farmhouse chic" refurbished furniture. She loved it...whatever "it" is...and I'm dropping it off to be sold in her shop.

Photos? Now you have another crafting side ... won't be long until you'll be doing your baskets.
Keep this up and you'll have an Etsy shop before long.

A new backup plan in case the sweat shop, I mean the nursery, doesn't work out? As Joxcee said, you could funnel your crafting side juices into a profitable enterprise. One that, evidently, you enjoy as much as writing.

Only the ones I took on my phone to text the shop owner....and I have never figured out how to download photos from my phone to my computer to post to photo bucket. Or rather, I'm sure I can figure out how to post them here from my phone, but it's too much effort at the moment. Maybe I'll go down there today, and take a photo with my camera - curious to see how she's got it displayed anyway.
Nah. The holiday baskets can't be shipped because they're fresh. The furniture stuff I'm doing now can't be shipped because I don't want to deal with shipping big stuff!
Hardly profitable...not enough to do it full time, anyway. She takes stuff on consignment - a 60/40 split which is typical. I've got a couple more projects in the works, and a bunch in my head. I just think it's fun making something from nothing.

There's more than one way to do everything. In your situation, allow me to suggest that on your own phone you add yourself as a phone contact, include your e-mail address in your profile, and then simply send the pictures to your normal e-mail address. I'm sure you can handle it from there. It may not be the most direct route, but it'll work.

You can use the extension that charges your phone. Pull the USB end that plugs into the 'box' that plugs into the outlet out and plug it into the USB drive on your computer. Your phone should give you an option to link to the computer and open a file so that you can move/copy the photos from your phone onto your computer. That's what I do. There's also iCloud sharing ... which I haven't quite figured out just yet. Or, as Stepper suggested, you can email them from your phone to your computer.

My charger doesn't work that way - It's a single piece from the plug to the phone. They may have one that fits together that way, but I haven't got it.

Thought about that, minus the adding myself as a contact because it's an unnecessary step, but just haven't done it yet.
For that matter, it's probably possible to download to Photobucket from the phone.
But I want to do it Joxie's way, so I can download all the photos from the phone I want to keep...(too big of a file to e-mail).
It's been awhile, but I've tried that - got a thing on the phone that said something like 'enable transfer of files to another device', but the thing wouldn't open. Saw the phone in "My Computer" on the laptop, and I could transfer data, but couldn't see what I was transferring! I'd think it'd be as simple as moving files from a memory stick to the computer - just a click and drag. I'll have to try again, and play around with it some.
I've never seen one that doesn't.

My phone won't let me just send one to any address - it has to be a contact first. That makes sense - if the volume of data to download is substantial you want the best transfer method. Now that I think about it - what I was actually doing was attaching a picture to a text but sending it to an e-mail address. What ever works I guess. You can't say that anymore. I don't think they make one for my phone that would work the way Joxcee described. I don't think it exists. The directions I found on line say I'd have to have an account with Microsoft and use their services to do that kind of transfer.

You might try and see which kind has a plug as close to the size and shape of the end that goes into your phone. Do a search to see if someone has instructions for a hack.

The cord doesn't pull away from the part you plug into the wall? Three different chargers - one from my phone (Hubs and LX have the same charger; LX has a different model phone), one from Hubs' old flip phone, and one that someone or another of the girls' friends left at the house and never claimed. They're all interchangeable - they'll charge almost any smartphone. They all have a USB connector - even the ancient flip-phone charger. Micro USB chargers are standardized - nearly the only phone they won't charge is an iPhone, because of course, Apple products aren't compatible with anything. If you can text, take photos, have GPS, access the Internet, or have apps, you have a smartphone, and if you have a smartphone, chances are you can run out to Walmart, buy any miro USB charger, and it'll work on your phone. The Micro-USB connectors and chargers shipped with most modern smartphones and tablets are now supposed to be standardized. This is a topic that’s more confusing than it should be, given this standardization....
Micro USB Chargers: Most smartphones — including Android, Windows Phone, and Blackberry phones — and Android tablets use standard Micro USB connectors. These replace the proprietary chargers that old cell phones used to use. To comply with the European Union’s directives on a common type of charger for smartphones, Apple offers a Lightning-to-Micro-USB adapter.Ok, so I was wrong about Apple...sort of. www.howtogeek.com/175734/htg-explains-can-you-use-any-charger-with-any-device/Almost got it figured out this morning; found the thing on the phone that enables my computer to access files, found the phone device on "This PC", accessed the file's context, found DCIM, accessed the photo file (under "Camera" not "Gallery" as it is on the phone or "Pictures" like it is on the computer, and opened it. And got stuck - it was taking too long, and I had to close it down and leave for work. Too tired now to try again. One of these days...

"Avoid laptops" should be one of the warnings for hot flashes. The heat from my laptop sets off my hot flashes quite a lot ... especially when the a/c shuts off.

OH. MY. GOD. I was sitting on the couch with my laptop last night, and (BAM!) it hit. So uncomfortable, I practically threw the thing off me, ran to get a cold glass of water, and sat outside for a while. Came back in, and BP looks at me as if I'd gone crazy. <shrugs.> I probably have. This week's completed transformation projects. The cabinet/hutch is mine, and the small storage unit (it was a potato bin) is going to the farmhouse chic shop today - both were side-of-the-road set-out-for-the-trash finds. The wooden cylinders I'm not quite sure what to do with yet - I've got seven of them; they're one of the few things we dug out of the attic at Mom's, and for whatever reason, I decided to keep them. I thought candle pillars, but don't think they look right at the same height, and I'm not sure I want to cut them to different lengths. Although they're just push-mower rollers, I think cutting them kind of destroys the essence of their industrial beauty. Ideas?

Whatever they were, they aren't junk now. Based on the picture I suspect they'll sell fairly well.
I understand, but depending on the lengths, I don't agree. If they are long enough, then cut them at different lengths but allow for both (or multiple) "sets" to be used. Cut side down for both if possible - and then use a hole cutter and make space for a tea candle in the tops. A drill press would be great but if you have a steady hand and can manage the angle to keep it perpendicular, then drill away. Other wise cut them all in half, wrap the bases in faux holly & then glue or hot wax it in place, and you've got either a new item for your Christmas table sales or Christmas presents for friends.
Are they wide enough for glasses? Slice them thinner, stick on some cork, and they are coasters. You could even use some of that Girl Scout wonder glue and slap on some kind of decorative covering.
Hollow them out at different depths and make a wind chime or two.
Use only six of them in what ever project you decide on, and seal one in a wall upstairs - with no explanation as to why it's there - knowing that some day sixty years from now someone will find it and say WTF.

You should take the laptop outside with you ... or sit right in front of a vent and hope the a/c doesn't kick off.
I have salt & pepper shakers that look like that. Perhaps storage for seasonings?

Contrary to what the name says, a Laptop should never be used while sitting on your lap. The exhaust vents are on the bottom and your legs block the vents, causing it to overheat. Get a lapboard and put the Laptop on that if you don't want to use a table or desk.

If proximity to a heat source is enough, wouldn't that mean baths and stoves are our enemy too?

My laptop sits on top of a fan, which sits on top of a wider lap board, which sits on top of a small pillow to protect my legs.
Ah, so it's a psychological thing rather than a physical thing ...
No. It's physical. The laptop is still on my lap, and it gives off heat. Any presence of heat will kick off a hot flash, no matter how small the source it comes from.
Yes. Anything that gives off heat, no matter how small the amount/temp, can set off a hot flash. Using cool water in the bath/shower helps. The problem is, hot flashes don't pop up or stick around in cool/cold situations. I heat up the bathroom because I will freeze once I get wet. A hot flash only tends to pop up when they aren't needed/wanted.
The best solution to avoiding hot flashes is, don't do anything that will bring you into contact with temperatures, or heat sources, that are higher than your body temperature. Don't make movements that will increase your body temperature. Don't get upset, ever, about anything. Don't cover up when cold. Don't wear clothing that will increase your body temperature. Don't eat/drink hot foods/drinks. Don't eat/drink spicy foods/drinks.
Hopefully I won't be one of the ones who is tormented for 20 years by hot flashes. I'm hoping to be very lucky and only have to suffer a couple of years. (Yeah. I've never been lucky, so not expecting to be now.)

Hhmmm...let's see.
Don't do anything that where you have contact with heat sources - check. I work outside in the heat and humidity.
Don't make movements that will increase your body temperature - check. I work outside in the heat and humidity, at what is a lot of times, a very physical job.
Don't get upset, ever, about anything - check. I have kids, and a husband.
Don't cover up when cold...and don't wear clothing that will increase your body temperature - check and check. I live in Michigan; we have cold winters.
Don't eat or drink hot or spicy foods. Check and check.
I am doomed.

Can't you take hormone therapy for hot flashes?
I learned how to ma a hormone while still in high school ... don't pay her!
