Ideas can't be copyrighted. And no two people will write the same story from the same idea. So, feel free to use the same loglines used by others.
... ... ... ... ...
Two imprisoned men bond over a number of years, finding solace and eventual redemption through acts of common decency.
... ... ... ... ...
Can you guess the movie that goes with this logline? No? Good. You can write your own story without fear of incorporating any of the original stuff. You can also make changes to the logline to suit any 'What Ifs' you can come up with. You can change the sex of the characters from male to female ... you can also change the adults to children, humans to animals/aliens, etc. The 'imprisonment' doesn't have to be a government facility ... and 'imprisonment' can be changed to 'kidnapped' or 'entombed/trapped,' etc.

Step One: Write a one-sentence summary/logline. Step Two: Write a five-sentence paragraph that summarizes the whole story.
