COKE?! Are you insane? Nasty stuff.........

I've never had it. Not much of a pop drinker, (yes, we call it pop here),...maybe once or twice a year, if that. Then, it's gotta be Coke. The real thing. I figure if I'm gonna drink something with no nutritional value what-so-ever, then it ought to make my eyes water while I'm doing it.
My parents moved to Jackson MI when I was a baby, and we lived there until I was 5-1/2 years old... one of the stories they like to tell is when we were out one day and I asked for a soda, and some kid said it was pop.... and I said, "You guys up here call it pop, but us back home call it soda."
Note the "You guys." I go back and forth between "You guys" and "Ya'll" on occasion.

You guys is a colloquial thing? I didn't know that. My dad, who grew up in rural Pennsylvania used to say, "Yous guys". Used to bug the heck out of me, and then he'd do it all the more, just to tease.

And Scrappy...yep, I remember your affinity to Pepsi. To me, a can of Pepsi tastes like a Coke that someone opened, left out in the blazing sun all day, then stuck back in the refrigerator. Flat and sickly sweet. Ewww.

You just have NO tast in soda.......what can I say. Did you know that you can use Coca Cola to melt battery acid from your car? What does that tell you?

That it's powerful stuff. Actually, I once saw an extensive list of all the uses such as that, for Coca Cola. Kind of like the duct tape of beverages, I suppose.

That reminds me of a saying my mother always says:
There are only two things in this world you should never be without. Duct tape and WD-40.
If it moves and shouldn't use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should use the WD-40. And Wd-40 is the only thing that will remove Duct tape from most surfaces.....

Nah...there is this stuff called Goop-off, or Gunk-off, or something-off. I used it recently to remove masking tape which melted to the windows after baking a week in the sun, when we were painting the kitchen. Nothing else worked, but that. Nice orangey-citrus scent too.

I've used that. But have you ever tried it on Duct tape. Just makes a bigger mess. But we are digressing from you lack of taste in the soda (or pop) area. How do you feel about Stewarts?

Jimmy Stewarts? Or do you prefer James? Hhhmm...and how do you remove them? Those little Dr. Scholls pad thingies? Am I Compound W-ing the problem?

This conversation is reminding me of my gloves at work. OMG, I'm cracking up. I buy fairly expensive gloves and trash the hell out of them each year. I want them to last an entire work season, and with this little time left, I don't want to buy a new pair until next spring. About a month ago, I couldn't stand the holes worn through the tips of the fingers, but was too stubborn just to trash them. Hubs fixed them for me....using duct tape.
That round of duct tape has worn through, and with only one and a half weeks left to go, I just had him reapply a second coating. You've heard of silver tipped boots? My fingers are silver tipped.

Too bad the Duct tape doesn't also give you the midas touch. You'd be rich... ;D

Just make sure you aren't wearing them when you pick up your kids....I'm sure they'd make lovely little garden Gnomes.

Or Hubs for that matter. Then my garden would be made up of silver bells and cockled shells, and pretty maidens all in a row.
Ok, on that note...I've got to head out. The post content downhill slide is starting to occur, and I can tell when I'm too tired to continue.
Perhaps one day soon, we can discuss the story in this thread?
Sweet dreams to you, Scrappy and Joxie.

Oops...and you too, Guru. I just scrolled to the bottom of the page never figuring there'd be more than one post in a day. Completely missed yours the first time around.
Things are heating up again.

I came across that music on a "Dark Shadows" website and asked Le to add it to the "Whoosher" thread.

Very nice to see the story moving and everyone who is able posting away...Joxie, Freebird, Guru and Scrappy.
Scrappy, I know I already told you this, but your last post was one of my most favorites. Great work....and to everyone else also.
So a brief run-down on the casualties at the dinner table - and no, we are not talking about my cooking, thank you very much...
Phalon's been blasted into who-knows-where by Guru and his mighty Ion Gun. I'd watch it, Guru. Hell has no fury like that of a woman scorched.
Scrappy's a scrap of quiveringness, run through by an apparition of a sword wielded by a ghost with rotten teeth.
And Guru's just been shot by Scrappy? Or did she miss and pump the roasted chicken full of lead?
I don't know, Joxie, Freebird and Dixie...but I'd be taking cover here real quick.

Wow! Guess I must have.......cool, been wanting to shoot that delivery boy for days. Uh sorry Guru but you really shouldn't sneak up on a gal that way.

C'mon now! Guru wasn't sneaking up on anybody. He's just not very good looking, so people misjudge his motives. A lot. Just to keep everyone on the same page... Scrappy did not miss. I wonder what happens next. ;D
