Ooooo, is right. That is one serious laugh. No half measures there. Not a hint of a snigger, no cackle even, just a good rising-up-from-yer-boots laugh.
Err.........do mind if I invite a few friends round to listen to that laugh, Scrappy?
Like the poem, Phalon. As pretty a precis as ever I've read, an no messin'.

Oooo, nice. Phalon eagerly awaits the arrival into the dining room. Is the dragon coming too? Does this mean we get to have barbecue? Thinking grilled chicken singed with dragon's breath ought to be quite flavorful.

I can't make my mind up about the sauce though, and Mervina does have a tendency to over-cook things.

As long as it's crispy on the outside, but tender on the inside it should be good. Ketchep....the sauce of choice by the most discerning gotta-smother-it-in-something sauce connoisseurs, and termed one of the major food groups by kids everywhere. Hides a multitude of cooking sins also.
I am getting ready to think about getting ready to get a post ready for posting. Ready?

It's not the post I was getting ready to think about getting ready to get a post ready for posting....but I couldn't resist.
And the HOW in the title stands, of course, for House of Whoosher.
Happy Halloween, House of Whoosher, and all it's captives....er...occupants.

Sometimes I'd just like to be a fly on the wall of your brain cavity, Moonglum, just to see how it works. How do you come up with this stuff? It's great. Love the way you portrayed Eurayle.

I did once have a look in my mind. Too scary........ I went out of it again pretty quickly.
There's a strange buzzing sound in there!

The door creaks slowly open......a burst of manical laughter escapes from within the bowels of the house, but fades in the wind outside where she stands, wondering if the sound was real...or imagined.
Welcome, Leara.

Has anyone got a duster, there are some serious cobwebs in here?

Post by Phalon on Oct 25, 2008 5:35:17 GMT -6
Shhhhhhhhh, Moonglum......the dust bunnies will hear. They live in those cobwebs, and even the slightest sounds will cause them to stir, and seek their revenge against all who dare to disturb their tangled webs of deseat...
What? Deseat? De Dust Bunnies gotta get off their defeet and sit and rest sometimes, ya know.

Yes, though I might be going out on a limb by admitting their sore defeet. Dis is all kind of disarming, isn't it?

After the longest intermission in the history of the Melodrama, the next act finally begins. Judging from the way it's starting, it looks like it'll be well worth the wait.
Nice post, Moonglum.

Moonglum! I was poking around in here earlier and noticed you put up a post! And a previous one in June too! How'd the heck did I miss that?
Probably because I couldn't see through all the cobwebs. A couple of nice ones though; this seems to be Jason's story now, and a very fine one it is. Looking forward to reading what's next.
How's your book coming, btw?

Thanks Lady P. I just keep plugging on hoping for company, lol. It's heading back to the house, maybe not in the way I originally thought, but back all the same.
As for the book, I've got about a chapter and a half written. Unfortunately work has become hectic. I'm now one of two engineers responsible for all our machines on the Olympic site in London. We're working flat out for up to 12 hours a day. If I get a chance I'll post some pictures on here. It's a vast building site at the moment, but it's going to be impressive once it's finished.
So the book has suffered of late. I'll get it finished.......one day!

MG, are you able to use a digital recorder at work? If so, and you work alone, why not record your book? If you don't have free hands, get an ear/mouth piece and put the digital recorder in a pocket. Or, if you have a long commute to and from work, record your book while on the road.
BTW: I'm thinking up a post. I've decided to get Joxcee out of the dining room and off to herself. She may meet up with "India Ana" briefly, but they won't stay connected. I just want to get Joxcee off away from the others, and then that way my character can continue on without them. Joxcee can then meet back up with any one of them when they start posting again.

Every once in a while, I've thought about posting again, but Phalon's been stagnant for so long, I wouldn't know where to start so I haven't given it much thought at all. Maybe one day; I kind of miss the old girl.
Love where you're headed though, Moonglum, and I'm enjoying being a reader now, instead of a participant.
And that is too cool about working on the Olympic site! I hope you get a chance to post some pictures (it's not hard to imagine that working 12 hours a day does not leave a whole lot of time to play). It'll be neat watching the games to think I know someone who's had a hand in making it all possible.
I've got no doubt you'll get the book finished one day.

Yeah, Phalon. We got stuck in that meeting in the dining room and were left hanging. I couldn't figure out how to go on from there, but I've decided I'll just drift off away from the others. Perhaps a post from me will help get you motivated. Oooh. Maybe the others got frozen in time? And I woke up to find them still frozen. ... ....
Thinking ... thinking ... thinking ... .

MG, are you able to use a digital recorder at work? If so, and you work alone, why not record your book?Ahh, the old recorder ploy! Don't think I havn't thought about it Jox, unfortunately security and Health&Safety is so tight that we aren't allowed mobiles or recording devices on site. It would be nice to read a post or two by someone else, lol. When everyone disappeared from the dining room I had to take Jason off somewhere else. However he's definitely being drawn back to the house. Look forward to reading your post, whichever way it goes.

I've printed out my parts of the thread to read, but I probably should reread the whole story to get back into it. I'll try to have a post up in a few days ... feel free to 'clear your throat' in this thread whenever you feel I need a reminder.

It's the House's Birthday! It likes presents, I'm told, and it looks like Moonglum's given a couple of nice ones in the way of some new posts.
Btw, Joxie? What the heck are you doing? Just curious.
