I loved the book. And it doesn’t bother me that the TV Show has many differences. (I saw the show first, but rarely do I not prefer the book, even if I read it afterwards.) I didn’t care for the good guys having bad side effects for doing good. But, I wasn’t the writer. I’m a happily ever after reader, but I can still enjoy a good story that doesn’t pretend it will end happily, and then kill the beloved character/s for shock value. If you’re gonna kill off a character I love, you had better put in hints to prepare me, or you’re gonna lose me as a fan. I held out hope for Vic, but I wasn’t shocked when she died.
Whatever you do, be sure to read every page of the book ... especially the page mentioning the font type used in the book. (Read that page last. You won’t regret it.) Brilliant! I’ll have to remember to make note of the fonts I use. It is really interesting information. Who’d have thunk it?
