I passed it to Kat who claims to have handed it off in a "very sneaky underhanded manner" ... and I can't find it anywhere. Did he edit it into an old post? Did he send it through PM? And are those even allowed?

Ah'ha, intriguing questions which will be revealed in the fullness of time Jox, and indeed ARE they allowed [ that's provided I did such a thing ] This one may have to go before the rules committee. Muuwwwaaahhh *cough*

As the clock keeps ticking, here's a quick down-to-the-wire recap....
Jon passed it to Mia a.k.a. Joxie, who's held possession of the squash multiple times, possibly breaking the all-time Whoosh record as having received the pumpkin more times this season than any other recipient in years past. I think a Heismann trophy nomination is in order.
Phalon has no clue what time it is, except that now it's an hour earlier than it was last time she didn't know the time.
Moonglum thinks he knows the time, but actually doesn't. Vox doesn't care, as long as he's covered in chocolate, (oops, wrong thread).
Katina is in possession of the pumpkin now, may be breaking rules if such rules exist to be broken, but isn't letting on either way.
It's 12:30 my time - minus an hour, which doesn't matter except that I have to work tomorrow, so yay - I get to sleep in a bit later. So....it's 10:30ish give or take Scrappy's time, and she doesn't get to sleep later tomorrow. Ppppbbblllttt!
Two more hours or so to go.

Time doesn't _officially_ change until 2AM. And that should be well past the time that Scrappy hits 12AM. Me thinks. Not sure.

You are correct - the time change occurs at 2AM.

It's the same over here. Why 2.00am, do they think we won't notice? We have to alter the clocks, of course we'll notice. Time only does weird things on the story boards..............Oohh! what if I'm living in a story? Am I fiction? I thought I was real........Put that eraser down.

Sneaky......sneaky damn Aussies! Here I was.....minding my own business checking my mail since I was soooo late tonight and what happens? I get splatted with a damn pumpkin! Sneaky pfftttt, we're resourceful and very creative .... well maybe just a tad sneaky as well. ;D So I'm the rotten pumpkin this year stuck with the circling orb. Who wants pie? I'll have some thanks, lots of whipped cream on it if you don't mind. AND! I'm not entierly sure his hand off was in the strictest accordance with the rules.........I want to challenge the ruling on the field! Can I do that? As the chairperson, and ONLY person on the rules committee, I'll give ya one guess as to the answer to your question. P.S. Don't forget the whipped cream. ..............Oohh! what if I'm living in a story? Am I fiction? I thought I was real........Put that eraser down. Sheesh sorry mate, didn't realise it was you. *what have I done?*

My dad will take a slice, too, Scrap. My mom has a cut-off date for all special holiday foods; you can't have them within 2-months of the holiday, so that the foods will be more special when you DO have them. But if you snuck a slice of his favorite pie to Oklahoma, I bet his conscience wouldn't bother him a bit!

I believe the 2AM rule is for the bars. Over here they have to stop serving alcohol at 2AM, and in the fall/autumn that gives the bars an extra hour to serve drinks ... in the spring, if they changed the time before 2AM, the bars would lose an hour serving time, and they can't have that.

Dang, am I too late?! Did you save a piece for me, Scrappy, or am I going to be satisfied with the splatters I can scrape off Katina? (I'll be careful with the fork, Katina, I swear).
Makes sense, Siren. I wonder if a Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings would be just as mouth-watering delicious if it was a meal eaten more often. Hhhmm....I'd be willing to experiment!

Dang, am I too late?! Did you save a piece for me, Scrappy, or am I going to be satisfied with the splatters I can scrape off Katina? (I'll be careful with the fork, Katina, I swear). I don't want to say that you're too late, but the only thing left is Kat Splatters. Of course, being Kat, he probably left some intentionally. Besides, I hear he's a fan of whipped cream. One of the local grocery stores has a lunch and supper hot foods area - they carry super sized turkey legs - and so far I'd have to say that having them available all year hasn't changed a thing. Of course, we're not talking all the trimmings so it's not an exact comparison. Maybe you should give it a try and let us know! If you get bored, I could come visiting and help out a bit!

Hhmm...turkey legs; Hubs always gets those. The girls and I prefer the white meat. (which reminds me since we ran through Halloween in the "this and that" thread, how 'bout we start in on Thanksgiving a bit early? I never get tired of talking about food.)
I've roasted a turkey breast on occasion, served with some of the traditional sides throughout the year, and I've never been tired of it. Heck, I never even get tired of turkey leftovers.
But sure...
It's a deal....as long as you bring the dessert, because I don't bake!
Whipped cream?!
<tosses fork over her shoulder. A scream is heard in the background>
Shoot....now where'd Katina run off to?

Post by stepper on Nov 2, 2009 22:59:07 GMT -6
No problem on the deserts. Scratch cheese cakes okay? I'm a dark meat fan - you and the girls can have the white, but here's my tip for you. Get a nice sized roasting pan, and put the turkey in breast side down. Best, juiciest turkey breast you'll ever make. Of course, it's not a turkey if it weighs less than 17 pounds. (Why is it spelled pounds, but abreviated lbs? Where the heck does that silly "L" come from?)
<hears a blood gushing scream in the background...>
Hm. This sounds like a job for Band-Aid Man! <runs for the Hello Kitty band aids>

Sheesh, turn my back for five minutes and what happens, cop a pie in the kisser and become an object for everybodies amusement. Oh well, I've got a thick hide, I can take it *sob* it doesn't bother me .... no really it doesn't. *sob* P.S. Nice Pie Scrapp' could do with some more cream though, can never have to much cream.

Hmmmph! now I'm gonna sulk!

See, I could have sworn I'd tossed the pumpkin at Moonglum when Phalon commented on it not being in play ... and I went in search of it and couldn't find it. I guess I didn't hit the 'post reply' button ... though I'm pretty sure I did. And I don't recall my computer freezing up, so I don't know what happened. And then I switched victims.
Can toss something for Thanksgiving. Pumpkin Pie? Gourds? Horns of Plenty? Fruitcake tossing will come up at Christmas, and then there's the snowball fight. And I added some hot potatoes for summer, should anyone decide to start a thread for it.
Sorry you guys were overlooked.

I noticed! But, I think the last person to receive the orange orb of obcessive obvoidance didn't notice - or didn't know what to do with it. We may need to start over. I haven't seen the current owner for a while.
