The Books-a-Million CC#3/HOFAS Bonus Scene seems to have soured some on Rhysand. In this bonus scene, we see Rhys through Embers eyes, not the eyes of those who know and love him. Ember may/may not know that Rhys is related to her daughter through her father. But she can see that Rhys looks similar to Bryce and Ruhn in appearance, who no doubt also look similar to the Autumn King, Einar, who Ember had a bad relationship with. So Ember sees Rhysand in the same light as she sees her ex, Einar.

Their Rhys isn’t our Rhys. They’re on a completely different parallel world than we are. I scroll past them, & find those who view Rhys as I view him. 💖💗💕
Also, we’re getting Rhys through Ember’s eyes. Since Rhys is kin to the Autumn King, perhaps Ember is seeing Rhys through a tainted lens.
Rhys gets angry with Ember at first, until he recognizes her anger & defiance, and recognizes a fellow victim, which causes him to back down.
