It's crazy how far people went without being stopped. Even being brazen enough to fondle her and to try and rape her in front of the crowd. I don't think I would have ever been cruel to her, and I believe I would have stepped up to try and protect her. However, I did have a mean steak as a child. I don't know at what age I overcame allowing myself to do hurtful things. I turned 16 in 1974. I was past my mean "little" girl stage, and I had compassion for others, so I do think I would have done the right thing then.
