This is a thread dedicated to compiling a list of the common denominators, or connections that can be made between the characters, before they arrived on the island. If you think of any, please feel free to post them, as I'm sure I've forgotten plenty.
(1) The car that hit Locke during his flashback, in the supermarket parking lot, and the car that hits Michael during his flashback, is the same car, and both accidents happened in the same year, 1996.
(2) Santa Rosa Hospital, where Hurley's friend?, Lenny, is being held, is the same hospital that Locke's mom stayed at.
(3) Locke told boone that he worked at a box factory, which was in Tustin. Hurley's stockbroker told Him that he's the ownwer of a lucrative box factory in Tustin. (presumedly the same one)
(4) Sawyer is seen being led through the police station in handcuffs while Boone's there, reporting the assault on his sister.
(5) Hurley on the TV at the Korean familys house, when Jin made his call. [edit]
(6) Sawyer and Jack's dad happened to be in the same airport bar, and chit-chatted over a drink.
