Lost Cast Discusses Your Theories

Buena Vista Home Entertainment held the impressive DVD launch party for "Lost: Season One" on the North Shore of Oahu at the Turtle Bay Resort on Tuesday night. The anticipated DVD will hit stores on September 6th (stay tuned for more on the premiere and DVD soon).
ComingSoon.net caught up with the stars of the popular ABC TV series on the red carpet (actually, a straw carpet) and asked each what their favorite theory is that they have either read or heard about the mystery of the island. It became obvious that the cast doesn't know where the story is going, but that didn't stop a few of them from giving their own theories as well.
Naveen Andrews (Sayid): The one I warm to most...Have you seen the film "Jacob's Ladder"? Well, I love the idea of it being the last few seconds of someone's life. I like that, that's nice and terrific, I love that.
Yunjin Kim (Sun): I'll tell you what I don't like. Purgatory, I don't like. I don't like to think we are already dead and this is for nothing. Why are we running around away from the monsters, if we're already dead.
Emilie de Ravin (Claire): I've heard this from people, so many different theories as far as Purgatory or we're just all dead. I kind of like personally that we are here for a reason and we're each meant to figure out what that is which will then lead us to a way out or a way back, somewhere, I'm not sure where that is yet(laughing), but we have to be there for some reason.
Terry O'Quinn (Locke): I find I don't even have to try to not have theories, I just don't have them. Because I know if I had them, I'd start thinking about them or I would start investing in the possibility that the one I'm rooting for and I don't want to do that. I just want to see what's going to happen.
Daniel Dae Kim (Jin): I've heard so many, but I think my personal favorite is the "Alien Ant Farm". Yeah, I like that one. I think there's something to that. The fact that there's an outside force that's kind of watching how we interact and trying to build a society. There's something interesting there.
Matthew Fox (Jack): The most obvious thing is the Purgatory thing, it's the most prevalent theory. I really like that theory on a metaphorical sense. I think this show is ultimately going to be about these characters finding a redemption so that they can sort of move on internally and spiritually and individually onto a better place for themselves. But the idea that their all actually dead, I don't like that part.
Maggie Grace (Shannon): (Laughing) Oh, there's some great ones. There's one about nuclear testing and they have a lot of historical backup. People are doing their homework. There's some interesting articles that have hatched and how it is based on reality.
Evangeline Lilly (Kate): You know, someone told me recently, and I can't remember what it was, but I went, "that's really smart, that might be what it is." I can't remember what it is now, and it just drives me crazy. I have my own. I think that the word 'Lost' is a very big metaphor for our every single character's mental state of being, psychological, and emotional state of being and we're on this island to be mentally, psychologically, and emotionally found. We were all chosen specifically because we will facilitate that for one another. That's what I think.
Harold Perrineau (Michael): I'd always believed the whole government conspiracy thing was great and then I heard that was the boring choice, but I thought it was really cool (laughing). But that's been my favorite one so far.
