Episode 2.06: Abandoned
Airdate: November 9, 2005
10/19 - In that show, [Maggie Grace's] character, Shannon Rutherford, flashes back to the death of her father, Donald, who appeared in a season premiere hospital scene with Matthew Fox's Dr. Jack. Source: USA Today [Note: Per episode 2.01, Shannon's father is named Adam. We do not know if they decided to rename the character.]
10/18 - The female who dies is... [...Shannon...]. The death will happen in the November 9 episode. Source: Ain't It Cool News
10/13 - A wounded Sawyer might not survive a trek through the jungle with Michael, Jin and the tail-section survivors; Locke's interest in Claire gets to Charlie; and Shannon is again haunted by visions of Walt. Source: TV Guide Online
10/11 - Sawyer’s wound becomes life-threatening as he, Michael and Jin make their way through the interior of the island with the tail section survivors. Meanwhile, Shannon is once again haunted by visions of Walt, and Charlie becomes jealous of Locke’s interest in Claire. Guest starring are Malcolm David Kelley as Walt, David Ely as intern, L. Scott Caldwell as Rose, Sam Anderson as Bernard, Kimberley Joseph as Cindy, Ian Somerhalder as Boone, Lindsay Frost as Sabrina, Francois Guetary as Philippe, Ashleigh Ann Wood as Nora, Maree Miller as Sophie, Patti Hastie as nurse, Michael Cowell as doctor and Sandra Le Bat as Dominique. Source: ABC
09/23 - The dude who died in that crash, who was on the bed next to Julie Bowen WAS named Rutherford... as you guys heard... which is of course Shannon and Boone's last name. And I hear we'll find out WHY in the sixth episode, which I believe is Shannon-centric. Source: Kristin on E!Online [Note: Kristin is mistaken about Boone's last name. It is Carlyle and not Rutherford.]
09/20 - Writer/Supervising producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach reveals: We are currently developing a back story for Shannon - kind of an "origin story" about how she became the kind of person that she is, and I think it's going to surprise a lot of people. Source: The Official Lost Magazine, Issue 1, Nov/Dec 2005
09/18 - Possible a Shannon flashback showing her in ballet class as a child and hanging with her best friend Nora as a teenager. Source: Television Without Pity
08/05 - Maggie Grace (Shannon): "We're going to find out some of Shannon's backstory. We have a few clues - she was married, highly manipulative, that sort of stuff. And it's a possibility that Ian might come back for that [backstory]." Source: Kristin on E!Online
