Oh! You've still got your wrapping abilities! (and I see you still have your throwing arm; you're fruit-cake lobbing abilities haven't been hampered either.) Pretty package, Elfin Poppet....even prettier contents; the boys should be pleased with the early Christmas gift. Interesting to see if they can play nicely and share.
So far we have Scrappy, Siren, Stepper, Joxie, Jon, and Katina. Anyone else like to join?
I've gotta go find my hat. I'll be drawing names tomorrow.

Ok, before I get bundled up for that long-awaited first cross-country ski trek of the season, let's get this show on the road. Here we go, Santas. Everybody should have a pm with the name of the person you'll be Santa-ing for this year. Shhhh....don't tell who it is.
Just as a refresher to how this works for those who've done it before, and a crash-course for those who haven't...
Everyone gets three gifts. To keep your identity secret, they all come to me first via my pm box. Anything (within Whoosh's TOS) goes; your creativity and thoughtfulness in past years always makes me smile. Gifts can be a "real" thing you find a photo of on the Internet, or if you've got that perfect gift in mind that only exists in your head, then a worded description is welcomed also. Wording can also accompany a pictured gift, but remember - text can not be gift-wrapped.
Because my pm box gets to be as messy as my actually desk, it works great if gifts are sent in separate pms with person's name who it goes to, and gift number in the subject line. "So-and-so Gift #1", for example. That way I don't get confused as to who gets what at what time. I'm confused enough as it is already.
Then off to the wrapping department they go, where Elfin Poppet and Elfin Joxie magically do their elfin magic, and send them back to me in pretty wrappings tied up with a bow. You can send the three gifts to me all at once (in separate pms), or take your time shopping spreading it out over the next week...but I'd like the first gift to arrive in my pm box by Wednesday, the second gift no later than Thursday, and third by Friday, because I'm hoping to get this all wrapped up before I leave to head to Mom's on Sunday. (Does this give you Elfins enough time to get them wrapped?)
So I'll be delivering the gifts Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: one gift to each person each day. Saturday's gift is the one in which you reveal yourselves - you can post it yourself, or if you're not going to be available, I can post it for you - just let me know. Or if you'd like it gift-wrapped and are unable to do it yourself (I have never figured it out, but that's no surprise), send it to me and one of the ever-so-lovely Elfins will wrap it, and I'll send it back to you for your posting pleasure.
Have I just made this as totally confusing as possible? The idea is to keep everything secret until the end, and this is the way it works best.
Ok, I'm off to ski. Let the shopping begin!

Oh! A question for Scrappy and Joxie - which works best, Internet links or photobucket photos? From my end, links are better - in past years I've taken photobucket photos that were sent to me, and copied them into my own photobucket account because I didn't want the Santa's identity to be discovered via their photobucket account name....which I don't mind doing, but photobucket and me have a little off-an-on rift going - it works for me only when it wants to.
But from your end, which is easier to wrap?

k, confused. virtual presents, like, what, e-cards, pics...?

Yes, Jon, virtual presents....whatever you want to give. A boxed set of all seven Xena seasons? Just go to Amazon.com or wherever, and send me the link to the description, and it'll be wrapped in a pretty box and presented to whoever's name you drew. An all-expense paid trip to Tahiti? Find me a tropical beach scene, and rest will be taken care of by the Lovely Elfins (I hope Scrappy's back in service by wrapping time) and me.
Page back to page 15 through 18 (I think) for last year's Christmas. Click on the wrapped boxes to get an idea of how it works. (I think there might be one or two packages in there that were just thrown in there for decoration.)

Jon, have you read this whole thread? All gifts were given out here, so it should give you a wee bit of an idea of how this works. If not, then ask again, and we'll see if we can get your queries answered.
Phalon, I now have control of the whooshorg photobucket, plus a WhooshOrgForum photobucket where I can upload the images.
And: The image of the gift is a url that goes on the outside of the image of the wrapper.

Thanks, Joxie.....I think I managed to get one or two presents wrapped here last year during the last minute rush, (with a whole lot of trial and error), but it works nice if there's more than one wrapper, because then nobody knows who is wrapping for who (I switch them up on my end, so you and Scrappy don't wrap the same person's gifts each time). It just makes it all so secrety, like super-secret spy elf missons....or something. Psst...the crow flies at quarter past one; meet me under the mulberry tree half-past a dog's hair from the crow's flight for further instructions.
And ooohhhhh, have you got another one of those ice cream bars? I'm feeling the need for something chocolately right about now. Uhm....ok, so I'm always feeling the need for something chocolately, but now you've gone ahead and reminded me!

Separate PM's, check, persons name, check, gift number in subject line, check, no problemo Gams, think I can manage that. *now what was that again, separate gift numbers? persons name in subject line? sheesh I'm gettin' confused.*

Didn't I just say I was done shopping?? I've gotta brave the crowds again?? And it's cold out there too! Sigh. If I must, I must. Tell LX thanks for allowing us use of her nimble fingers!

Yes, yes, I know you were done fighting the crowds, and it's cold outside, Stepper - you're probably all tuckered out and chilly right about now. And Katina is confused....could be from a lack of the proper Christmas time nourishment. Just stopping in to drop off a little pick-me-up for busy shoppers, the confused, the chilly, or the just plain hungry and parched. (psst...the second goes down real well will a big splash of Coconut Malibu rum, and a big ol' blob of whipped cream. Or a handful or two of mini-marshmallows. All of which can be found on the top shelf here, out of my reach to ensure there's some left for everyone else.)

Just stopping in to drop off a little pick-me-up for busy shoppers, the confused, the chilly, or the just plain hungry and parched. An accomplishment notable only because it's been something like 9 years since I haven't had to make an emergency trip to the 24 hour airport postoffice and paid for air-special-delivery-put-me-in-front-of-everyone-else-for-which-I'm-paying-exorbitant-near-blackmail-fees. And those cookies look perfect. It's almost a shame to eat them! Thanks!

You're right Step' they do look to good to eat, but that ain't gonna stop me from wolfing down a couple [ or six ] washed down with copious amounts of that beverage with "a big splash of Coconut Malibu rum, and a big ol' blob of whipped cream" delish.
Thanks Gams.

Glad they hit the spot...and it looks like they did the trick, providing enough energy, (or rum-induced bravery) to fight the crowds in the Internet Mall of Endless Shopping Ideas. My pm box is starting to fill. Good work, Santas!
A newly discovered Secret Santa shopping tip: If you choose something from Ebay, the item will not be available for display once the actual bidding ends.
Three more shopping days left, Santas!

I wish I could say the same, Jon. Thud! And argh! I am a failure at wrapping. Sniff. Surely, they're gonna make me turn in my elf shoes for this. Damn, and I just had them curled too!
Ah, well, back to the drawing board.
One more day left before deliveries of the first gift begins, Santas. Please get them to me before tomorrow evening.

Let the gift-giving begin!! TG Darlin' it's never the gift - it's the company. Especially when it's you! Of course, I don't want to mess up your plans, so if you MUST bring refreshments, I'd be only too happy to partake!!

Aw, that was sweet, Stepper. Warm fuzzies is right, TG. Feel the Christmas Spirit in here! And my bag this morning is full of it, (I am too; what I'm full of is a different story though). The first one out of the bag filled with Christmas Spirit is tagged for Scrappy.

Not letting the cat out of the bag (because I'm not telling who sent this), but stopping in to let another gift out of the bag. This one is for Katina. Now I've got to get a bit of my own shopping done before the day is over, (think I'll have another of TG's Christmas beverages first though). More to come later.

Whew! Elfin duties all over the place today; I just got back from playing Elf at BP's class Christmas party. Passing out brownies, and helping play games - what job could be better?! Especially when you get to eat the leftovers. My duties aren't done quite yet though. There's still a couple gifts left in the bag today. This one is for Stepper. Enjoy a year's supply of fabulous filet mignon. (even though I'm full of brownies, this one is making my mouth water!)

And last, but certainly not least, the ever so beautiful, Siren. (Siren, I gotta tell you.....LX was looking at the Christmas cards going out in the mail the other day. "Who's this?" she asks, looking at the one addressed to you. "Siren", I say. "Ooohhhhh, I thought her real name was Siren - it's the coolest name ever.") So there ya go....a cool name for a cool lady. And here's a cool gift for you.
