Evidently this is what Bush said out on the campaign trail yesterday in part of his talk. GEORGE W. BUSH, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we. 8/5/04A slip but nevertheless, probably the truth of what goes on in his presidency.... Irene

I know it sounds stupid, and Bush does not phrase himself clearly. I think what he meant was that we have to think of all the ways they can hurt us so we can thwart them.

I swear. If that man runs this country as badly as he runs his mouth, we are all in serious trouble.

LMAO. To me, a great Pres. is one who can makes good decisions, articulates and communicates well, really well.
I think he got nominated to the Presidency by saying very little.

I think anyone who doesn't realize the implications of his words (or actions) shouldn't be President. Take a look at his views on dictatorship... If that's not scary, then I don't know what is. Click here to see how he constantly tries to speak for all of the American people. I, for one, don't agree with a lot of what he says, so how can he be speaking for me? It's no wonder we have so many enemies, if they actually believe that he speaks for all of us.

/me The man's a farking nimrod. The only thing he does is try to read all the material that is written down for him off the teleprompter and he can't even do that: Lar--ah and I bee leave ....He's such a dimweed. I don't understand how this fact slips by all those that voted for him. I think I remember him talking a few months ago at a graduation and proud of the fact that a guy of his intelligence who made all "C"'s was elected President. Irene

Then he talks about how hard he worked to get to school...

Irene, if only that was his last statement.
And 'worked' to get to school? Worked at anything? Can he even spell that?
Gig, I adore your quotes on Bush you've been posting. It's so scary that they're not even remotely funny.

Wanna see something else that's scary? channelevents.estage.aol.com/flash/elections/genStraw.adpWhat is this country turning into? Thanks on the quotes. I should go over to dubyaspeak.com and pick out another one. I was wondering about that 'worked to get to school' comment, too. I didn't think jumping on the school bus was all that hard to do, unless he just couldn't find his way to the end of the driveway. But he probably had a chauffer pick him up at the front door anyway. Edit to add link to a pic I made: Ooh! Pretty!

I like the pic gigs. As far as the map, the figures don't look right for Pennsylvania. Kerry is ahead 48% to 43% so I don't know where they got those. That was as of the weekend. ? Irene

I'm glad I can vote. We need to get this child out of office.
I'd like to take this time to say: anyone who decides to vote for a third party may as well be voting for Bush.

Yeah right........it must be real hard work spending all of Daddy's money and barely passing your classes. I work a full time job so I can pay for school and I still have a 4.0 GPA and a member of the honor society. Tell me he honestly worked hard to go to school. Must be pretty hard not to trip over your own feet trying to get in a limo. One more thing, if it hadn't been for the Bush administration who cut my grant money to pay for this stupid "war", I wouldn't have to work so hard just to pay for school. Ok...I'm ranting, I'll stop. DITTO!Nader is a decent guy. I don't know if he'd make a good president but, we can't afford Bush for another four years. I thank whichever God/Goddess will listen everyday that my brother finally got all his combat points and can't be out there getting shot at anymore for that man. Regardless of how much he wants to.

Thanks, Irene. I personally think the whole thing looks off, because I thought the results would be more split down the middle. The results were gotten from some poll that AOL had up yesterday, and the results are in real-time. I just looked at the map again, and Bush's numbers have gone up in the poll, so now it even looks even less accurate. If I didn't know better, I'd say there was a huge group of people choosing Bush on the AOL poll just to make Bush supporters think they won't need to go out and vote. The only reason I can laugh about that is because I don't believe those figures are anywhere near accurate. I'm glad you can too, A1ecto, and I urge you and everyone else to do it, and to get others to go out there and vote for Kerry next month. I agree with that 100%. I think it would be nice to have a third party in the Oval Office, but it ain't gonna happen this year. As bad as Bush has been for this country and for the world, I'm a bit disgruntled at Nader for running again this year after taking so many votes away from Bush's main opponent four years ago. If the Democrat and Republican candidates were both decent, and neither of them were completely ignorant and bigoted and a complete liar like the President we have now, I would probably vote for the third party candidate (provided he/she's a decent candidate), just to make the statement that we need more choices than just Democrat or Republican. But this is not the time to do it, because the stakes are just too high. This is why everyone, regardless of whether they're a Democrat, Independent, or even Republican, needs to come together and vote for John Kerry this year, because Bush's combined greed and ignorance (and other negative qualities) make him a dangerous manchild who needs to be taken out of office before he starts World War III.

Nader isn't taking away votes from anybody. Those votes don't belong to anyone until they are cast. Anways, Nader's not going to be a factor this year. The Democrats made it virtually impossible for this man to run in every state. He's not on the ballot in California, and he still can if the Green Party puts him on the ballot, but I seriously doubt that.
As far as I'm concerned, I am voting for Bush and he's going to win my state anyways, so even if wanted to vote against him, which I'm not, all of our electoral votes are still going to Bush.

The whole world should be able to vote on US elections as the outcome affects the whole world.

Uh huh. You want people who don't even live here to decide who runs our country? That's like me getting to pick the members of parliment in England. Our own people don't even know what's going on half the time. How can we expect other countries to.

This year, the outcome definitely affects the whole world. But there are leaders of other countries who have affected the whole world as well, like Hitler. As much as I would like the whole world to vote Bush out this year, that idea doesn't seem very prudent. But there is something you can do, Bosatsu, and that's to help motivate your online American friends to go out and do their part to get Bush out of office. If you can get 5 Americans to go out and vote for Kerry, then that outweighs a single vote.

Even one vote makes a difference. Why vote for someone you don't want as president?
Hell, I'm paying a few friends to vote for Kerry that weren't going to vote at all for the reason you stated before.

So put on a disguise and keep your car running. Be sure to take the license plate off, though, to keep people from tracking you down. Personally, I'm not afraid of a little lynching, because I've already been lynched quite a bit myself.

This is interesting. In vast contrast to AOL's poll, check out Electoral-Vote.com's count: I believe this one to be a little closer to the truth, but it just goes to show you how inaccurate these things can be.

Bush visited our town just recently so there was an 8000 extra over run with our newspaper were I work and so we had to work that much harder to get it out and beat the deadline.

I think I would've called in sick that day to protest. That is, unless the paper printed his speech in its entirety, blunders and all, instead of glorifying his appearance. In that case, I would be more than happy to get the word out.

My, My, MY, My, My. What is going on here! I haven't been back since I started this thread. I love it! ;D I wish I could pay everyone to oust both of them and get someone else in there but I am voting for Kerry. Bush is a jerk! On "Crossfire" James Carvel keeps playing everyday the same video of Bush saying: "I get d*m good intelligence." It's such a joke when the 911 report said we didn't have intelligence. Why I'd rather see Alfred B. Newman be the next president over Bush! It's a total embarassment for our country. And I'm afraid if Bush does win there will be violence in our country over it. Irene
