Hi xengab! A salad bar sounds very ! With fish & turkeymeat? I so love salads. Now i make fish for my kids and me. I, for my part, don´t eat Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte - to much Alcohol in the cake for me. i must, like you , eat and drink only health stuff. Thats the price, if i wanna live a half normal life. Wow.....go away for a couple of days and the place goes all healthy on me. Ok, I guess I can play along. I should be more health conscience anyway. Hey, does virtual food apply to allergies too? If it does I'll have my salad with blue cheese please. At least the virtual stuff won't kill me, I have missed it all these years.

Hey All, Sorry haven't posted for awhile, but I have checked in on you all to see if Cyrene has been keeping the food and drink flowing. Spent the weekend at my Mom's. Saturday was her birthday. She turned 83. My oldest brother and his wife and my Aunt (Mom's sister) and cousin (her youngest son) came up and we had cake and ice cream. It was nice to see my aunt and cousin. then on sunday my second oldest brother and his wife came and, Yes, more cake and ice cream. My Mom's health is doing OK. She is still having problems with her back, but too stubborn to talk to the doctor about it again. Also she needs to see about getting a new hearing aid (so we can quit yelling at her) but again is being stubborn. My Dad doesn't recognize any of us and barely can speak, so it is difficult to visit him. Alheimer's is such a cruel disease. Not only on the patient, but the family as well. Work has been getting on my nerves and what I really need is a real vacation. One that is just for me, but I will have to wait til the convention. Hurry up January. Hope you all have a great week and have a drink on me. LS

Lucystar - always nice to see you check in. Glad to were able to get away to celebrate your Mom's birthday with her and your family. And if I remember correctly - you have a birthday coming up here in a few days, no?
Sorry all you healthy salad bar frequenters - but I'm leaving a big ole birthday cake and icecream for Lucystar, Cyrene Tavern's founder. And you guys better help me eat it!

Whew, thanks for the reminder, Phalon. I've already been late for 3 birthdays. Hi Lucystar! Yum, cake and ice cream. I've been eating ice cream nearly every day all though summer, lol, but it's been a couple of months since I've had cake. Well, aside from virtual cake, that is. I hope you'll stop by next Monday for your cake. I wish there was a cure for Alzheimer's. I'm sorry it has advanced so far, and while I can't imagine what it's like for your Dad, I know the hard road you and your family have ahead of you. Tell your Mom to quit being selfish and to take care of herself. You all have enough stress to deal with.

Y'know I spend my life trying to diet and eat healthy so I'm going to boycott this healthy food business and stuff myself with virtual cake and chocolate as it won't make me gain weight...hurrah! Hi lucystar - sorry to hear about your dad...my great grandma had Alzheimers and its a terrible disease to live with, most distressing for those who are close to the sufferer. I've been rushed off my feet the last couple of days...we're just goin into our new season of shows at the theatre so we have a different company in every week, talk about a madhouse I'm taking a long weekend next weekend though and going to Burleigh Horse Trials which is a big equestrian event in the UK. Will be able to see the competitors just come back from Athens who did us so proud with the team silver medal, so that should be cool. dixie

Howdy All!
Dixie…..no need to tip toe when no ones around. Unless of course Phalon is passed out on the bar again from my cookies. Mwhahahaha! I know what you mean about idiot colleagues. Just found out yesterday that we are about to get another director. That makes four in just over a year. Still havn’t found out why yet but the scuttle butt is the dreaded SH (sexual harassment). Would never have guessed this one was that stupid. Oh well. Another one bites the dust.
I’ll take some of that coffee Eirene, as I’m home brainstorming again today. I’m hoping my stuff passes the test with the gang over at the Zena scrolls.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Leaving some fresh peaches on the bar for anyone who wants one. Promise they are safe.

Good Evening.
Xengab, sorry to hear your hubs is still having problems with his back. Hope he feels better soon.
Stormy day today - actually off and on for the last week. We've had some severe ones - nothing too bad in my area, just unbelievably hard rain, but inland, I guess there was a lot of damage. It was kinda drizzly at work today, but then cleared up and pretty much held off for Little Xena's birthday party, which was good because she planned for it to be outside, (which was fine with me). All the little girls had a good time despite going home soaking wet - not from the rain, but the result of bobbing for apples, (LX's idea). Sheesh, they loved it and proclaimed apple bobbing was to be a yearly tradition from now on. I'm out four t-shirts though, (including one of my favorite Red Wings shirts), cuz I couldn't let them all go home soaking wet. I'm glad they didn't all want dry clothes or I'd be out an entire closet full of shirts. Although - maybe that necessarily be a bad thing - I could use some new ones.
Aside from all the rain, the weather here has finally turned summery - in the eighties this week. For the last couple weeks or so it's been fall-like. I even noticed some fall color starting on some of the trees on my drive to work. Fall is my absolute favorite season. I cut a huge bouquet of golden rod for the dining room, and another with golden rod, Queen Anne's lace, different types of sunflowers and verbena bonensis for the kitchen. I think Hubs nearly had a stroke when I brought all that golden rod into the house, thinking of the hayfever attacks we'd all be having. I had to assure him more than once that it is a myth that golden rod causes hayfever and it is actually only the ragweed that blooms at the same time that is the real cause. And believe me - the ragweed is definately in bloom. Ahhh-choo.

16 hour shifts, Cesario? What do you do that makes you work such long hours? I've done 12 or 13 before, but only a few times, and I can't imagine having a job where that would happen often. Then again, I'm sure I spend that much time on my computer, so maybe I can imagine it. Have 5 more on me. You've earned it.

Hey Lesigner Girl...re 16hour shifts...it was kinda self inflicted as I did an 8hour overtime shift followed by my usual 8 hour shift, hence the loooooooong 16 hour marathon! Sadly it's quite a regular thing in my line of work...I'm a trainee paramedic...no such thing as sleep in the world of medicine! I'm on the coffee again tonight as I'm doing 12hours (1900 - 0700) But it's my penultimate night shift in a run of seven, so hurrah for that! Oops, there goes the alarm, gotta run! Hugs Ces xxxx

Ooooo, live entertainment? It's not Scrappy impersonating Barbara again, is it? Or is that SweetPea's job? Speaking of Sweet Pea, I wonder where she's been off to lately? And Eroc too.
Eirene - I'd love to have only six weeks off. Here, I usually end my season from mid to late Novemember, then don't go back until sometime in March. It's great not to work in the winter, but towards the end of the off-season I start itching to go back to work.
Beautiful night tonight. It's back to fall-like weather for a couple days. A friend and I went walking after I got the girls to bed. Cool and crisp. A deep midnight blue sky with the most gorgeous yellow full moon. The only thing missing was piles of colored leaves to crunch underfoot. The perfect autumn night. It'll come soon enough, I suppose.
Happy Birthday to Lucystar!

Hey! My rendition of Barbra isn't half bad. It isn't half good either. I can't wait for fall. It was 95 here today.....but somehow it I can tell it's coming. The air feels different, it's funny how you can always smell it when it happens. Hope everyone had a good day! Night all!

Hi everyone Am very bored sitting in a darkened box operating the lighting desk whilst actors rehearse on stage...sounds cool but gets to you after a while Ces - you work too hard, am surprised you have the energy to type! You better be awake this weekend for the Lots of people are talking about it being fall now and I have to say the weather is definitely getting cooler...the nights are really drawing in here. Although I love the sunshine, winter is my favourite time of year. You can't beat getting home in the evenings to snuggle up with a cup of tea and a good book and watch the stars come out on a frosty evening. Plus which I love Christmas because we get into pantomime season here at the theatre and its so festive! I've left some choc chic cookies on the counter so help yourselves... see y'all later dixie
